Will Samsung and Google ever shake hands?

I love this watch (hardware), but I'm already about to return it (software). I have a Pixel 10 Pro and unfortunately, Samsung and Google can't seem to play nice together which is resulting in lots of bugs with their compatibility. Sometimes I get notifications and sometimes I don't. Sometimes those notifications are full notifications where I can read them on the watch and then minutes later I get another and it only vibrates. The current weather doesn't update on the watch face however the hourly forecast does. I can't use certain valuable features like ECG and blood pressure monitoring unless I have a Samsung phone. That sucks. I hate that Samsung and Google are trying to close their ecosystems up like Apple does. That just makes me not even want to use them. Unless I can figure some of this stuff out soon, I'll probably be returning the watch which is unfortunate because I really like the hardware aspect of it.

Follow-up after two weeks

Just wanted to give a brief follow-up on how I'm acclimating to the medicine so far (25mg). I noticed an effect after the first dose and have pretty much maintained that. My brain fog cleared up and my head has "quieted" down some. I would use the analogy of going from sitting in an NFL football stadium to a high school football game. There's still noise in my head but it's toned down a lot. My focus seems to be a little bit better but my motivation still drags. I am however able to switch tasks easier, and I do things I don't like without much thought now. My anxiety levels have reduced a lot too. I still get anxious about stuff but I can work through it, whereas before it would take over my mind like a runaway train. I take Propranolol for a hereditary essential tremor so that keeps the heartrate from climbing too much. Also, I am on another blood pressure med (Losartan) so my blood pressure is also pretty well regulated, even on Strattera. This medicine gave me ED (about 50%) almost immediately however 2.5 mgs of daily Cialis completely eliminates that. In fact I wake up ready to go now more than before, which my wife likes. ;) One thing I'm not thrilled about right now is the dulling effect of my emotions and personality. It's almost as if it's hard to smile. I can look at someone with a straight face and then look away whereas before I would usually make some kind of facial gesture. My wife is understanding of everything so I'm not really worried about it, but it's just weird. I remember years ago I used to tell myself, "I wish I just didn't care so much about things like some people do". Well that's kind of what it's like now. I shrug off most things that would normally get me going. I also have a Rx for low dose methylphenidate ER (10mg) so I might give it a try soon on an off day to see if it works synergistically or whether it's not a good fit. I also might go up to 40mg soon and see how that does. 🤙

Strattera, so far so good!

I'm a 47/M and have struggled with ADHD symptoms my whole life. Finally, my wife pushed me to get evaluated because it was pretty obvious to her as well. Needless to say, I tested poorly with impulsivity being the biggest hurdle. I've also had anxiety and depression off and on for years, much of it stemming from childhood and a lot from my career (emergency services).

My doctor first tried me on Wellbutrin 100mgs and that sent me into several hours of panic. I ended up taking a Xanax to calm myself down. He also tried me on Zoloft for anxiety and that made me feel like I was going crazy. My doctor then suggested I try Strattera. I was very reluctant to try this because I've been programmed to think that norepinephrine was bad for anxiety. How could something that increases norepinephrine actually help me? Well, it turns out through my research that someone can have lower prefrontal cortex (brain) norepinephrine while having higher peripheral levels, thus causing the physical symptoms of anxiety and restlessness but still struggle with focus, motivation, and executive function.

I started taking Strattera (Atomoxetine 25mg) about a week ago and it has been nothing short of amazing. After the first couple of hours, it's like 20+ years of brain fog just evaporated and I was actually able to think clearly. Also, my vision improved in the sense that my eyes weren't straining like they did before. Even my anxiety dropped down to a point that I didn't even think about it. This is crazy, all this after one dose? I know the therapeutic effect can take weeks, but I'm seeing these early benefits as a sign that I may have found the right medicine. Of course it doesn't come without a few negatives, but they're tolerable. One is I tend to get a little fluttery for the first hour or so after taking it before the medicine settles in and then everything is fine. Also, my man parts took a big hit from this medication. Nothing that 2.5mgs of daily Cialis doesn't wipe out though.

Trying something different.

I trimmed down my beard and am growing out my stache some. My wife has always been vehemently against mustaches, however yesterday she said it actually looked nice. I'll try to remember to update in a few weeks.

51mm - Different angles

I know this has been talked about before, but here's a few pictures taken from different viewing angles to give a better idea of how watches appear to other people. The first picture is typically how we see watches on our own wrists and unfortunately this angle makes them look enormous, however when standing in front of a mirror and looking at your arm from a front view, it will show a much better perspective of what other people actually see. Do this before deciding on whether something is too big for you, or too small. For reference, this is a 51mm Enduro 3 on my 18cm (7.1") wrists. And because someone will ask, the watch face is called Lagom S7.

New Enduro 3 🤙

I got this in the mail yesterday. It's a very large watch but I think it works on my wrist (18cm). I had the Fenix 8 solar 51mm before and sold it a while back because I missed the Garmin ecosystem and was ready to get another one. This was the watch face (Lagom S7) that I had on my F8 when I had it. Even though it's big, the watch is very lightweight and incredibly comfortable to wear compared to the full-sized Fenix 8. It weighs 4 grams less than the Instinct 2x tactical!

T8/F8 MIP clarity

I had the 51mm Fenix 8 solar for a little while and sold it several months ago, however I'm having some seller's remorse. I'm thinking of picking up the Tactix 8 solar model now, but I have a question about the display. The Fenix 8 MIP is noticeably clearer with a brighter backlight than the Fenix 7 series, and from what I've read the T8 has similar hardware. Does the Tactix 8 have the exact same upgraded MIP as the Fenix 8? I don't want to get it and it looks like the Fenix 7 screen.

CJC1295/Ipamorelin and joint pain

I had to prematurely stop my run of CJC1295/Ipamorelin because it has really messed up my shoulder. I had surgery on this shoulder years ago and have always gotten by without much issue, but after about a week of taking this combo, the shoulder pain and joint pain elsewhere because disabling. I've ran this for about 6 weeks now with good results otherwise, but I can't keep going on with the pain like this. The only thing I can attribute it too is my IGF1 levels are too high. I have another full 10mg bottle of this in my fridge that I might try again later on, but I need a break.

Before I send my radio into Yaesu..

Before I send my 510RASP into Yaesu, I wanted to get your opinion first. My radio seems to put out the appropriate power on VHF (usually between 53w-55w) as seen in the picture on the right; however UHF is almost always running low around 31w-34w. What's strange is one of the nearby 440 repeaters will yield me a consistent 45w. I've changed meters and also ran a 100w dummy load and it doesn't appear to be the antenna or cable. I've also checked to see if there's voltage drop at the meter and the back of the radio and it only drops about a volt at the radio plug. Something appears to be going on with the board inside the radio. Does anyone have any experience with this before I create a ticket and send it in to Yaesu? Thanks.
