Picked up my custom Warren boots today

Back on MLK day I went to the Wesco factory and got fitted for custom boots. Because of my weird foot shape with super high arches and slightly wide forefoot, I wanted someone who really knew what they were doing taking my measurements.

I ordered a custom Warren with the Motor Patrol last in Maryam Bruciatto Horse rump. My build was based on a collaboration called the Packhorse that Division Road put out years ago. I wanted smooth out leather, Vibram half soles, and no toe cap.

When I got to Wesco and they opened the box... as you can see, they added toe caps. I was like, "Crud, I ordered no toe caps." They looked up my order and sure enough, no toe caps. They said, well, at least try for the fit and we can do a rush job. So luckily the fit was so spot on. I can't stress how amazing it felt to walk around in a pair of boots that fit perfect all around. I've spent 35 years working in poorly fitting work boots. So I'm looking at these and I say to them, "You know, I'm not disliking these toe caps as much as I thought I would." The guy at the showroom says, "Would you take them if we gave you a discount?" And I said "I can probably be talked into that." They gave me $100 off so I said sold! I then said, now that I know the fit is good, I want to order some Jobmasters. They started doing up my build for those and I said I wanted roughout vamp and counters. The lady said, "You know what, since you were so nice about the toe caps, we won't charge you the roughout fee". They also didn't charge for the nickle hooks and eyes.

Basically, for being nice and liking the boots, I got $155 worth of discounts. I think the boots look fantastic and they said this leather will patina nicely.

Let me know your thoughts.

Jack Herer flowering after I trimmed her up

The last of my 4 plants I grew this year for the first time in 32 years. I'm starting to get concerned because the rains seem to be coming super early this year. She's looking absolutely healthy, but it's a race to the finish line right now. Even though it's supposed to be a "fast" version, I'm thinking she needs another three weeks to harvest. Wish me luck.

First grow in 32 years (update)

Status update on my first grown in 32 years. Because of my job requiring multiple licenses and certifications, I had to quit smoking weed 32 years ago. This December I'm retiring, so I'm growing some plants to have organic weed ready for when I can finally smoke again. I've got 3 autoflowers going. Cream Mandarine, Gelato, and Super Lemon Haze. Those are nearly ready to harvest. I've also got a photoperiod Jack Herer Fast that I just trimmed up today. Hopefully I didn't take too much, maybe some of the pros here can chime in.

What moisture content should my outdoor soil be at?

I'm growing outdoor in raised beds. I amended my raised bedding mix with build-a-soil potting mix, coco loco, epsom salts, bone meal, and supercharge mycorrhizae/bacteria booster. My ph/hygrometer is showing around 52% moisture level right now. Plants are looking great, but there's going to be a few hot days coming up. What's the optimal level of soil moisture to have?

Question about Stihl hardware (torx screws)

I bought the undaunted manufacturing muffler for my MS 261 and installed it yesterday. The muffler came with Allen head screws. What grade of torx cap screws should I buy to match the others on the saw?

First grow in 32 years

I quit smoking and growing around 32 years ago when I got a CDL and started working for garbage companies.

I'm retiring this December, so I'm growing the legal 4 plants this Summer outdoors. I don't have room in my house for a grow setup, so it will have to do.

I have 4 varieties I'm growing. Cream Mandarin Auto, Cream Mandarin Fast, Jack Herer Fast, and Gelato 41 auto. I soaked 2 seeds in water for a day, then put in damp paper towels in my heated germinator that I use to start my vegetables for my raised beds every year. I went 8 for 8 in germination! They all look like the picture below.

I took the best looking seed of each type and placed in rapid rooter plugs. I'm getting excited to be able to grow and smoke again!
