I used to email MACRO and they'd respond and come out fairly quickly. Lately, my emails have gone unanswered so I began calling the direct dispatch line. They answer quickly but the three times that I've called them in the past month or so, MACRO has not shown up. Basically like OPD lol. Before you ask, yes, these are service calls that fall under their purview (people sleeping on the street who are not exhibiting signs of violence) and that they used to show up for. I'm wondering if they're just too busy now, or have their staff been reduced or what.
Has anyone else had MACRO not come out when called? My little calls aren't that important but I do want to escalate to council if I'm not the only one. They used to come so promptly. It's very possible my timing was off and I happened to call on days they were busy.
The England coach was at the Bay FC vs North Carolina Courage game, which Bay won 3-0. She linked up with the England and Bay FC youngsters.

I just read this paywalled SF Chronicle article on the owner of acclaimed Menlo Park restaurant Yeobo, Darling, which is fantastic and the only thing I like about having to go to Menlo Park. He is opening a new Korean Taiwanese restaurant (like Yeobo) on Piedmont Ave late 2026. The article said that he declined to share where on Piedmont Ave but maybe someone can guess.
I'm very excited about this because Yeobo Darling is so good and Piedmont Ave isn't far for me.
Details from the article:
"The co-owner of contemporary Cal-Italian spot Itria in the Mission District and Korean-Taiwanese stunner Yeobo, Darling in Menlo Park — both on the Chronicle’s 2026 Top 100 Restaurants in the Bay Area list — has Oakland in his sights for his next restaurant.
Banker-turned-restaurateur Min Park is teaming up with chef Brian Shin, an alum of Corey Lee’s Benu and In Situ, on a new project called Ajae. Park told the Chronicle that it will be an upscale Korean restaurant serving Shin’s take on Korean comfort dishes like gukbap, a homey rice soup.
The target opening timeframe for Ajae, which will be located on Oakland’s Piedmont Avenue, is late 2026, Park said, but he declined to share the address, or its past tenant. Once open, he hopes that the restaurant can bring some optimism to the local dining scene, which has seen a spate of closures amid a challenging environment. “A good restaurant can transform the entire block and how it feels,” he said.
Shin has previously worked at fine dining landmarks such as Chicago’s Alinea and Corton in New York before starting with Corey Lee’s group. In 2017, he pivoted to a more casual setting, at cocktail bar the Snug in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights. Shin will follow in the footsteps of some of his former Benu peers, including James Yeun Leong Parry of the Happy Crane and Alan Hsu of Sun Moon Studio, who have gone on to open their own restaurants."
This is going to sound like a Nextdoor post, so I apologize in advance. But because yall are anything but nextdoor, I would like your rational take on a silly situation.
I recently started renting my neighbor's driveway and on one side, it has one of those small curbs in between houses, the kind that would only fit a mini Cooper without blocking either driveway. Yall know what I'm talking about. Sedans and SUVs (!) will park there and partially block the driveway that I'm using. Not fully, but we're talking like half a foot, sometimes less, sometimes more, but enough where I either can't get the car out at all (and I'm a decent driver) or where I have to Austin Powers it in a very narrow driveway.
I want to start leaving nice notes, like "Hello, please don't block the driveway. Thank you." The people who are parking there are not immediate neighbors (I know everyone on my street) but people who live like a block or so away, so close enough to want to be cordial.
My roommate thinks that this is a huge waste of time and that it could potentially offend the car owner. He thinks the notes are passive aggressive. I would happily ask them in person but I don't ever see the owners so I think a note is the only option. He thinks the notes could anger someone and have the opposite effect. His belief is that someone who parks that thoughtlessly doesn't care about notes.
Is leaving a nicely worded note on a car really that bad? I would understand if the note was bitchy but I intend on wording it like above.
Just got back from the preview opening of Dave and Buster’s in Jack London Sq and it is by far the biggest Dave and Buster’s I’ve ever been to. The dining area, bar area and game area are huge. My pics don’t do the scope of the place any justice. There are so many games to play. They have an area that you can rent out for private parties and a shuffleboard and dart booths, three huge TV screens that take up the wall of the dining area and lots of screens all over the place that’s showing sports. Very nice and enthusiastic staff.
l had so much fun and the vibes were really positive and exciting. I hope it succeeds and brings people to the area.
The grand opening is May 4 at 11am (random time but ok)
