Just got a call from my nutritionist. I guess I'm doing things too well. She said I need more phosphorus cuz my level is too low and that I need more fluids. What do they want from me? First I have fluid overloaded and too much phosphorus, now they want the opposite! 🤣🤣🤣

Post Transplant Meds

Are post transplant meds expensive? I only have Medicare Part A, B, and D. Plus I take other meds. Does Medicare pay for most of the cost? My income is very limited with only SSDI. Will I be able to afford these medications?

Transplant List

For those of you who were disqualified or not able to get on the transplant list, what were the reasons given? I'm at the evaluation phase next month and am just curious as to what they are looking for

Years on Dialysis & Diet

QUESTION - How strictly do you follow a renal diet, if at all? And how long have you been on dialysis? Do binders work well for you? I chose not to follow a renal diet whatsoever and understand the consequences of not doing so as in the end it is my life. My labs (including phosphorus, potassium, and sodium) have always been within limits. I've been on dialysis for about 4 years. I'm asking because I've seen such an array of how long people have been on dialysis on this Reddit but have read that typically it is 7-10 years. I also have comorbidities and am at peace with my mortality. Just curious how others handle their diet in relation to how long on dialysis. Thanks!
