Im listening to the song violaine rn and it sounds so different? I know the remastered versions sound a bit different but im listening to the "original" and it sounds way different than usual. The vocals sound slower and the instrumentals are just different. Makes me sad because I like the original sound so much. Anyone else notice?

I recently finished listening to their whole discography and upon entering the sub I've seen a lot of people rank milk and kisses very low, I don't get it, to me it was one of my favorite albums from them and a very interesting idea, maybe it's just me but i'm still curious to know what other people think.

I've only read the excerpt from the CT website, but it's nice to see that everyone's on talking terms again, and that there even seems to be a very slight chance of a reunion. VERY slight but it's better than 0.

i just listened to heaven or las vegas as my first cocteau twins album. what the fuck am i hearing i’ve never heard anything like this before it’s so
chaotic but also so smooth and hypnotic at the same time. and i’ve heard all the jokes about how you can’t understand the lyrics but wow i really can only make out about 5 words per song. the music just sounds so interesting

The best thing about returning from a two week long vacation on the week preceding your home nation's birthday is that TODAY IS ALREADY THE END OF THE WORKWEEK!!!!

So i decided to hear all their studio albums and which version should I choose for moon and melodies and milk and kisses

At the start of 2025 Cocteau Twins rapidly became my favorite artists of all time, and as someone who writes for fun, I eventually felt a need to write something comprehensive about them. Now it's done.

I want to make it very clear that I am no professional writer or music critic, and there are probably countless viewpoints in this article that people will disagree with, but it's just my opinion.

Also, this thing is incredibly long, and I am not stupid – I don't expect anyone to read it from front to back. In any case, I do think it could be useful as a guide to those who are just getting into Cocteau Twins.

To that point, I should say that I initially only listened to Heaven or Las Vegas (that is, of their music) for several months, and it took me over a year until I had bothered to go through all of their music – I wish I had done so much, much sooner. Granted, I am a particularly big Cocteau Twins fan, but I really think all of their stuff is worth checking out.

In any case, this is a ranking of albums, singles and EP's, album covers, music videos, Elizabeth Fraser's gibberish, and more.
