How much have you guys gotten out of this? I prefer to hear it from the community regarding how much they put in and received over a week/month/year of getting involved.

I have a birthday party planned for a friend, and I kinda want to have invitations sent out by someone dressed/acting like the grim reaper or a mortician. We're into that sort of thing.
I have many friends, who I love and respect... but they give me little white lies all the time.
I absolutely hate it, and I want to set boundaries, but being blunt will create resentment.
Essentially, I want to be able to say "I love you, but please knock it off" effectively and without straining the relationship.
How? This important to me in daily life.
