What is your on call situation like?

I am an imaging FSE. Used to work for OEM with on call only 4 times per year (4 weeks total). Got paid 8 hours for the week regardless of if you were called in or not. If you got a phone call but resolved it over the phone, you would get paid, usually putting in an hour or maybe two. However, the on call was really kind of an "on paper" thing and most FSEs completely forgot they were on call. There were no reminders and almost never a weekend call dispatched.

Now working for a third party. On call is every 3rd week. No pay for actually being on call. OT paid out at 1.5x, 2x on Sunday, but only get paid if you actually go on site.

I work in modalities that do not typically get called in after hours or on weekends, so I initially thought that this situation was not a big deal. But I was wrong. It is taking a toll on my life because I cannot plan anything big for on call weekends, and have to stay around home sitting around. The high frequency of the on call and zero pay if nothing comes in does bother me a lot. Also I was prepared one time to go to a site and it fell through, so I was sitting with my work clothes on ready to go for hours, on the phone communicating the whole time, and ended up not needing to go, and wasted my entire day and didn't get a dime. I also feel like I'm kind of always on call even if I'm not, because people frequently call me outside of the 8-5 business hours, at 7am, 7pm etc.

What is your on call situation like, and how do you cope with it? Do you risk doing stuff like going out boating, fishing, going to an event outside of your immediate town, etc.?

Please help me with this buzzing. About to sell the car.

I can't take it anymore with the rattles and buzzing with this car. I can ignore the smaller ones but there is a major buzzing coming from what seems to be the wireless charging pad area or maybe behind the glove box. I'm at the point where every time I drive I notice it more and more and I'm about to go insane. I can't believe I spent $50k on this car. Does anyone have any tips? I took it to the dealership and they said the noise is the turbocharger and that it's normal...

A lot of 7OH posts, but would like feedback on extracts/MIT

Never touched 7OH... Has anyone here used SR for regular kratom extracts? OPMS Gold 2-3x per day (170-250mg MIT). I'm thinking for this amount of MIT only 30mg of SR would do. Curious to hear any experiences. I know SR works better for 7OH compared to kratom, and extracts probably somewhere in thr middle.

So I made a comment about calling mini bottlee shooters vs nips, and it reminded me about the first time I went to Vegas a decade ago. The following week it took me 5 days to recover. Anyways, on the flight there (coast to coast) I believe I had 9 mini bottles of something good like Woodford or Glenfiddich (before airlines started to cost cut the brands). They did not cut me off at all. On all other flights I've only managed to get 4, maybe 6 if I cycle between the forward and aft flight attendants. But they usually log your seat number and cut you off. Stupidly, I always forget to go to the store to fill up my laptop bag, but that's probably for the better. Arriving at your destination feeling tired and headache is the worst, especially if you get some shitty sleep where your neck is craned. What's the most you've drank on a flight?
