Made a lil diorama
Been making little baubles from piles of untouched models. It's been a good way to improve details on models without worrying about consistency between squads.

Old 3rd edition Tau Fire Warrior.
I've been having a good time making little baubles from the piles of untouched sprues I've got. It's been a good way to work on improving details without suffering through squads and worrying about consistency.
I'm not, and will likely not be, selling anything; but I've been trying at the idea of setting up a shop and selling them off once I've got a good assortment of them. Curious if there's interest in this sort of thing.
Sorry, won't spam further. Had a surprise day off and spent it ripping through some details and heads. Trying to get better with various skin tones.
How we looking?
On to the dreaded heads.

They're "Done" unless I get some practice in and decide to freehand insignia onto their shoulders. Or come across a couple hormogants to hack up. Base is magnetized so models can be used. There's a little speaker system under the base that plays "Klendathu Drop" when a button is pressed.
Always happy to get feedback so I know what to work on, on the next project.
Made some Starship Troopers themed Kasrkin. It felt good to get them on a base, but there's still details to work on. There's insignia to paint on, and a speaker/button under the base that will play Klendathu Drop. Will also be adding a few dead bugs when I can track down a couple hormagaunts.

Felt good to get these guys on a base.
Still have details to work out and touch up, but they're getting close.
They're some 40k Cadian Kasrkin models. Gonna add a speaker & button rigged to play Klendathu Drop under the base, and might try to paint insignia on the shoulders still. Hopefully will track down a few Tyranids models to use for bug chunks on the base, as well. Would always appreciate feedback.

Warhammer 40k Cadian Kasrkin, with a Starship Troopers theme.
I still have some details to add and touch up, and I think adding some dead bug parts to the basing is a must. May also try and freehand some insignia on the shoulders. But it feels good to get them on a base.
I'm also adding a little button/speaker combo under the base that will play Klendathu Drop when pressed.

Starting to feel good about these. Little more detailing to do, then it's on to the base. Thoughts?
(And who supplies the best sand effects for basing?)
Trying my hand at a Starship Troopers themed scheme for some Warhammer 40k Kasrkin. Long way to go, but base layers are down. Lots of details and a custom display for them to go. Do they read well enough? Do the colors work? Would you like to know more?
Trying my hand at taking some Cadian Kasrkin and giving them a Starship Troopers theme. The longer I work on these, the less happy I am, but they gotta get done eventually. Most of the base covering is done, but there's a lot of detail work (and base/display for them) to go. Do they read as Starship Troopers?

Trying to get black armor nailed down. How we doing?
Another model for a friend, a good dozen hours deep into this one because I'm abysmally slow.
Least I think that's what it is. Painted for a friend. Could always use some C&C.
