My history teacher/class is honestly ragebaiting me, aita?
I have history class first period, it’s literally the second week into the school year. My teacher is one of those overly positive and outgoing teachers that wants you to make friends and work with people.
One of the first assignments he gave us was legitimately about sharing about our life from birth to present day, we had to write about our birth and 5 important life events after that to present day with real pictures or illustrations at minimum; and then sharing with our classmates when we were done.
I don’t want to do that and share my baby pictures and my important stuff to my classmates who are strangers rn. I could always fake it or write about minor stuff but it already left a bad taste in my mouth.
This is where I might be the asshole so be free to call me out anytime in the comments.
I’m also seated with people that don’t speak the best English or don’t put much into conversation at all. Whenever the teacher tells us to turn to our partner I silently die inside because most of the time she says “I don’t know” or “I don’t understand” to the question that the teacher wants us to talk about. I will never say it to her face or tell her anything mean but we still stay in silence for the next minute because I can’t speak Spanish and I don’t know how to rephrase the question for her.
This goes for everyone else at the group too, the other dude just doesn’t speak much either and the 4th one also doesn’t speak much and speaks another language too. I don’t want to lead every question and get basically no output.
I’m introverted and I already want to do things myself so I’m already going out of my way to lead.
And I have a lower tolerance for this because I’m Asian American and I can’t speak my Asian language. I have the exact same problem with my parents and grandparents and I don’t want to not be able to speak to my family at home and have the same problem at school. It’ll legitimately drive me insane.
God struck down the Tower of Babel and it fell onto me.
