On the fence: Used Denon Prime Go for $600 vs New Denon Prime Go+ for $900?

So I’m wanting a portable standalone unit to be able to move away from my computer…I have a DDJ GRV6 already and like it a lot, but I also like if I could just have the ability to move away from my computer for one reason or another.

Settled on the Prime Go/Go+ at this point BUT…now the dilemma is that of: do I go used on the previous generation unit and save some money or do I spend a little more as an investment to get a unit with more longevity?

Obviously the battery in the Go+ is better and it has a better processor…but I’m also worried that the battery in a used Go unit could not have the long term life left in it due to their age.

Anyone have experience with the Prime Go to know how the longevity of the hardware would be? I know the performance is negligible between the two but would the longevity and security be worth the additional investment?

AlphaTheta...just give me this in Rekordbox Performance mode

Let me just have two of these side by side on my monitor whenI'm using Rekordbox in Performance mode. I just want to not have to squint at everything. Yes, I know..."old people problems". Help a guy out. Clearly you want this to be the design language for users on your hardware, give your software users the same courtesy, please.

Syncing collections between Mac and iPad?

Hello all-

Newish DJ looking to settle into one software. I’ve been back and forth between Rekordbox and DJay Pro for a couple months now. One of the hang ups with me: I haven’t found a clear way to sync collections across multiple devices.

I’d like to have all the tracks I prepped on my Mac Mini to be synced across to an iPad for when I’m away from my desk setup as well as leverage the touchscreen aspects of Djay’s UI.

Is there a clear straightforward way to do this because this is one of the big advantages of Rekordbox that keeps me from fully committing to Djay Pro.

Shifting BPMs when they are so close together already.

Hey yall… beginner DJ here.

So I’m working on a small progressive/melodic house set that sits in the 121-126 BPM range. The starting track and the ending track are both 124 BPM.

My question: is it really important to shift the BPMs to each track original tempos? I kind of want to just lock in 124 from the jump and keep the groove through the set. And it would make recording the set into my DAW a lot easier too.

Is there really any benefit to moving the BPM around when it’s already so close together already?

Hello all-

So I’m new to DJing and have been prepping tracks in Rekordbox. I’m doing it manually by hand and ear for the sake of my own learning to do it properly. All the files are from my DAP library of FLAC files that I’ve downloaded from Bandcamp.

My question is this: is there any real reason to consider redownloading the music from Bandcamp in AIFF format? I’m skeptical that there is based off my own research but I wanted to ask in case there is something I’m overlooking.

I’m using Rekordbox via macOS with a DDJ GRV6 controller. Don’t really have any plans to ever move up to CDJs, but who knows what I’d be doing down the road.

I’d hate to setup all my Memory Cues in Rekordbox on FLAC files only to regret it and have to redo it all again on AIFF files because I made some oversight.
