My stay at one of San Antonio's most haunted: The Menger Hotel

Good evening, happy 4th of July.

I made a post a few weeks ago about my paranormal experience at the Emily Morgan hotel, now I have a more interesting story regarding my stay at the Menger. For a quick intro, the Menger was built in 1859 right on the battlegrounds of the Alamo. Famous people such as: Oscar Wilde, Teddy Roosevelt, Sidney Lanier, and Babe Ruth have stayed here.

The building itself is very beautiful, hosting: stained glass ceilings, ball rooms, and a bar where Teddy Roosevelt recruited his Rough Riders. The building itself is what gives it an eerie feeling. From the outside, the building looks small, but on the inside, its a labyrinth. The floors aren't flat, often hosting a slant, ramp, or strange staircase that doesn't feel quite right. As you walk down the eerie hallways, the building seems to keep adding onto itself, like the Winchester mansion. Each corner feels like there's something waiting right on the other side, to sum up the feeling, it's more similar to the backrooms rather than the Shining or 1408. During the visit, the closet robbed the peace from my girlfriend, she (a skeptic) claims there was an ominous presence right behind it. When she went alone to get us some drinks from the vending machine, she felt like she was being followed. She found an oddly shaped door that was chained up tight. She claims there was something on the other side of the door jiggling it.

Overall, the building itself felt...strange. To say the least. Iv been in many old buildings but never one that had enexplained, random, changes in elevation and floor plans. I would not be surprised at all if something turned up in my photos.

Hope yall enjoyed.

Sam Trapani and Humphrey Bogart

While I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought of this, but Sam from Mafia 1: DE reminds me a lot of Humphrey Bogart. Obviously it fits the era and what not but the hair, the face, and even the way he talks reminds me of Bogie. I'm just curious on yalls thoughts on this, hopefully I'm not the only one who's seeing this.

Thought I had while watching "Ghost Ship" (2002)

Evening yall, I finally got around to watching "Ghost Ship" again after years and years. While it wasn't scary in the slightest, the movie has a great story in my opinion, it kind of reminds me of The Shining. While watching it, the cruise liner disappeared in 1962 and the events of the movie take place in 2002, 40 years later. While this is a dignificant time jump, I felt like the story would have fit better if it was from the 1920s to the 1940s. Something about the outfits and such make me feel like the year doesn't match the story. What do yall think? I know its a pretty niche topic but maybe some of yall thought the same.

My experience in one of San Antonio's most haunted hotels

Good afternoon yall,

Here in San Antonio, Texas we have a hotel called the Emily Morgan Hotel. Its a beautiful gothic hotel that used to be a hospital and then a medical arts building. The new(er) owners try to sway away from it's past of being a hotspot for encounters but it still attracts those interested. Anyway, I recently booked a room which used to 1408 but got changed to 1409 after the movie came out. Naturally the 14th floor is actually the 13th floor due to the superstition so I was staying in possibly the most haunted room on the most haunted floor. The 14th floor used to be the surgical floor and the waiting area so there are most likely some souls stuck there. While I didn't see or hear anything that would be verified, I did smell an interesting aroma. If youve ever been in an older hospital or a nursing home theres that smell of high grade cleaners and antisceptics. Thats what I smelled. My girlfriend tried to dismiss it as sign that they just cleaned a room but this was distinctly a hospital smell and only the hallway smelled like it. We went to other supposedly haunted floors and there was no smell. What do yall think? Could I chalk it up as an interesting experience or put it to bed as just a cleaning agent smell?

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Now that we understand each other. Hello all, these here are my thoughts on the game as someone who has played the entire Mafia franchise so far. Again...just in case you havent played...there are indeed...spoilers.

What I liked: >!The story was great, the immersion into the old Cosa Nostra before it came into America full swing was great. Riding horses and using rifles and revolvers felt like a mix of an old west game. I loved hearing Sicilian in conversations, it definitely added to the immersion aspect. As a Mafia fan, it was fun seeing Leo, Frank (Franco), Sam (as a kiddo), and Giuseppe among others. Overall, story-wise, it was sad and beautiful and showed that the mafia lifestyle often times ends in blood. Also hearing the Mafia 2 theme was excellent.!<

What I disliked: >!While these are smaller things, they did bother me. The first that comes to mind is Don Torissi. I knew as soon as I met him that he was going to string us along and then betray us after we've done all the dirty work. Its like all the betrayal from Falcone and Luca Gurino in Mafia 2. With that, I never had a moment where I liked Cesare, Tino, or Don Torissi, I knew they secretly hated Enzo and saw him as just a tool to wipe out the Sparados from the start, Luca was the only real one. Plus, how do you become a made man and still get called carusu and treated like a little peasant? The reason why I disliked it was because it was so obvious. Another thing was the mission structure. It felt like the same thing every time. Sneak in, by yourself, because apparently youre the only muscle in the group, take out guards, then oops! A big fight breaks out. Kill a bunch of goons that are all the same character model then you land in spot specifically designed for a boss knife fight. Its one thing if the story line is linear, but at least spice up the missions so im not already mentally prepping for yet another knife fight or car chase. Mafia 1 and 2 have an excuse, theyre older games. This game is brand new. My last gripe is Isabella, she's infatuated with you immediately yet she knows who her father is. While I can't fault a lady for falling in love, shes unfortunately!< >!destined to be a politcal pawn by her father. While I'm not blaming Enzo and Isabella for having a relationship, they were so wreckless about everything!<.

Overall, I did enjoy the game despite my gripes, I just feel like it was underwhelming considering how great the other games are. Maybe if it was open world, it would be better? Im interested to hear your thoughts, naturally keep it respectful please.

P.S. Yes I whited everything out, and put the spoiler tag, and wrote "SPOILERS" at the top. Im sick of writing out an entire post just for some numbskull to be like, "errr spoilers much?"

Afternoon all, it looks like I got carried away with Nu Polish on my car and it left some white splotches on my car, 2 on the hood and 1 on the trunk. I think I either used too much or let it sit too long. Anyway, I tried buffing it with a wet microfiber, nothing. Next I tried using a little polish to try again, nothing. Then I tried a 50/50 alcohol mix and I dont think that worked. Any ideas help, thank you.
