Let's talk game difficulty settings

This goes for all games, not strictly JRPG's, but I wanted to bring it up anyway. In a handful of games, there's a difficulty setting, to either make the game harder or easier. Duh. What I'm curious about is how you all personally feel about them. Meaning, do you like it when games give you this as an option?

Me personally, I don't. I personally think a game should only have one difficulty, and it should be what the developers had intended the game to be. Sure you can break the game in half if you know how to abuse it's many systems, but that's just it. You, CAN break the game, not that you should. Souls games are the perfect example of the games having a set difficulty, and not bending the knee to be easier or harder. You can make it harder, or easier, on yourself if you want to. I much prefer that, than say a story difficulty, where it's only purpose is to let players go through the story without actually playing the game. Which at that point... just watch the cutscenes on youtube man.

I'm also going to add, most of the time making a game harder isn't really fun, only because it just means that enemies become damage sponges and fights take much longer to do, but not all games are like that. It's just that, most are. At least I think.

Do you like it when a game has a difficulty setting? Or do you dislike it and prefer if it had a set in stone difficulty? Also, please explain why you feel the way you do as well. Please and thank you for your time

I want to parry more

I like being able to parry in games, especially when it's oh so satisfying. So aside from soulslike games, Sekiro and the like, what are some games with an excellent parry mechanic? I'm also not counting E33, so don't suggest that. Or High-fi rush, already experienced it

Okay, so I'm seeing a lot of the same 5 games being suggested. I understand reading is hard and people don't like scrolling down, but before you say your game, just check to make sure it didn't already get mentioned and just upvote it instead please, thank you.

Good turn based combat in games

I've been with JRPG's for as long as I can remember, and I do really like turn based over action (though I still like action if the combat is satisfying)

I've played/experienced the Persona series, SMT series, Devil Survivor series, Metaphor Refantazio, some of the Trails series, and some of the Turn based Final Fantasy titles. While it's not a JRPG I did recently go through Chained echoes and enjoyed my time with it. (Even though it's not a JRPG, I do plan on picking up Sea of Stars soon)

So my question is, aside from monster taming games (Pokemon, Monhun stories, etc) what are some games with good turn based combat in it? (IMPORTANT. No QTE's, so No Y7/Y8, Paper Mario/Mario RPG, etc The combat is strictly turn based.)

Favorite turn based system

I like turn based combat in games because it lets me stop and think for a moment and plan ahead as well. Not too found of ones with QTE's or having to time my attacks quickly/on the fly.

I'm stuck between liking The press turn system of SMT and the one more/baton pass system from Persona for my favorite turn based combat. I LOVE exploiting an enemies weakness in games and being givin an advantage if I do that? yes please. What about the rest of you all? What game/series has your favorite turn based combat in it, and more importantly, why? Explain what you like about it's system(s)

Fun Roguelite's to pick up

Might as well ask this one as well. I like roguelite's, they're fun, addicting, and are easy to get into and do a run or so if I have nothing better to do. I plan on picking some up during the steam summer sale, but I'm kind of undecided on what to go for, and would like to hear some suggestions. Ideally, the game has to have good meta progression and engaging/satisfying combat, that's the key thing

I already have Hades 1 and 2, and Oblivion Override (I have monster train and slay the spire, but those are roguelike's. I'm looking for lite specifically)

I'm currently eyeing Astral Ascent, Realm of Ink, Shape of Dreams, Savara, Aethermancer, Blazblue Entropy Effect, Fairy Tail: Dungeons, Spiritfall, Roboquest, GODBREAKERS, Skul the Hero Slayer, Ember Knights, Absolum, Cinderia, and Sworn.

I'm undecisive sometimes, and this is one of those times. Feel free to point me to one of the games I specifically mentioned, or recommend me some stuff. I'm probably not going to do Darkest Dungeon, so don't mention that.
