I'm never going to have the life I wanted no matter how hard I work from now on, so what even is the point again?

I'm never gonna be able to get the job that I wanted, I'm never gonna be able to afford anything I want to do, I'm never gonna find a special someone or even just get a girlfriend. Besides, the world is getting worse anyway. It is already a world I do not want to live in no matter what. So why shouldn't I kill myself?

For my family's sake isn't nearly a good enough reason, because I will just be the failure for the rest of my life. There will be no traces of me when I'm gone. It would literally be like I never existed. Things don't get better. People seriously need to stop saying that.

You never chose to be born, you shouldn't be forced to live when you don't want to.

I don't feel like even bothering anymore, the world is getting worse anyway.

I want to just give up because I cannot be asked anymore because I can't see a point to actually trying to work for a "future" when the world is only becoming a worse place for literally everyone. There's the strong likelihood of WW3, but also climate catastrophe and the rise of superintelligent AI.

Thinking of suicide regularly.

.

I hate myself. I hate that I struggle with making friends, I hate that I struggle with basic things in my life. I hate that there isn't anything I'm particularly good at, I hate that I cannot work hard enough. I hate that I was born this way. I hate myself for ruining what little hope I had for my future.

I wish I drowned in that swimming pool in France when I was like 7.

I strongly believe that WW3 will happen before 2030, and that democracy will disappear, even if WW3 somehow does not happen. So what's the point again?

The world already sucks as it is, and it will almost certainly get worse. I try to limit how much I think about what's going on in the world, but I can't avoid it for that long. No, I can not take a break off social media. It will only make me more miserable. Besides, things will keep happening even if I don't read about it.

I want out. Please.

Anyone else feel like just giving up?

Not necessarily taking your life, but like... stop "trying"?

I no longer have any dreams to chase, and frankly no hope either.

A part of me don't see a point in doing anything, because the world is gonna get worse regardless.

No, I don't actually want to find "a reason to live".

Why am I like this?

Why can't I just be more normal?

Why am I the way I am?

This is why people tolerate me at best

This is why I have no friends

This is why I'm single

I wanna hit my head against a wall

I wanna rip my own head off

I wish my parents never met

Why are you like this?

Why are you like this?

This is why you have no friends

This is why nobody actually likes you

This is why you're single

This is why you will never amount to anything

This is why you will die alone

There is quite literally no reason for me to remain alive.

The *only* reason I'm still alive is that I have not succeeded in finally killing myself yet.

Even though I have a family that cares about me, it's not enough. Literally all my friends are online, I've tried and failed to make friends irl.

I did not do well enough in school, and I have no remaining dreams. I'll either be forced to get a job I will hate solely to make money, or I can rely on my country's social safety net for the rest of this wasteful life.

As if that wasn't enough, it's getting worse literally everywhere. We're actively heading towards a future comparable to 1984, and WW3 is a very real possibility. There is even more negative events that at least has a very real possibility to happen, but that doesn't really matter. All of these are things that will almost certainly happen in my natural life span.

So I have pretty much no wish to keep on living, and I do not want any so-called "help" from "professionals"

I just want to experience some kind of peace, but that seems to only be achievable when not being conscious in this life.

I feel that I should isolate myself from everyone I know

I feel like people tolerate me at best, even those I talk to online, and my family. Isolating myself would make doing it easier.

I'm considering withdrawing from society. I have almost no hope left for either my own future or the future of society as a whole

Hi.

I'm not quite there yet, but I have a desire to just withdraw from society as a whole, or I guess you can call it abandoning society.

I didn't do good enough in school, and the way society has been heading throughout my still relatively young life has made me lose even more hope. Frankly, I really dislike what society has become, and it honestly looks like it will get worse still. I don't want to go into details since I know how terribly toxic politics can become. Just know that I have my reasons.

I know I'm gonna feel ashamed, as if I'm a pathetic freeloader, but I simply lack the motivation to get pretty much any job since it really doesn't feel worth it. I would love to travel, and I would love to make friends, but with the rising cost of living, that is starting to feel like a fever dream. And retirement... it really doesn't feel worth it to sacrifice your best years just so that you can relax in your twilight years when you're old and frail.

I wish I could get a terminal illness that would end up killing me, but that unfortunately hasn't happened yet.

I know my family will be very disappointed and will try to force me into therapy, but I don't want to "get well" just so that I can be made to get a job.

I want to be happy and at peace, I really do, but nothing in life feels like it will remotely do that for me. Only videogames, anime, and occasionally YouTube brings me any sort of relief.

Is anyone else thinking about withdrawing from society?

I have very little faith that I will ever get the education and job I always wanted, and I really do not like what society has become in general. The thought of getting any job and going to work just to live and retire when you're all really doesn't feel worth it to me. Call me a lazy loser if you want.

Playing video games and being online is the is the only thing that brings me any amount of relief. I have no real life friends.

I just do not want to work just to live until I'm an old man. I do want to travel, but that will become pretty much impossible to me due to the rising cost of living and because I'd be forced to go back home in order to go back to work.

I guess I'm thinking of becoming what the Japanese would call a "hikikomori"

Anyone else who doesn't want to live in this world because of what it's like? (weltschmerz)

It's one of the main reasons why I want to end myself. It's not as simple as "just stop following the news" because you always get reminded of it. It still happens even if you purposely don't pay attention. It's impossible to deal with fully, at least for me.

"Weltschmerz" is a new term that comes from German and directly translated means "world-pain". It's used to describe this condition.

I only feel truly at peace during sleep and deep meditation

I've realized a while ago that entering a state my "sense of self temporarily disappeares" is the only point in my life where I feel truly at peace. Like sleeping and being in deep meditation can be deeply peaceful to me. Is there others who has experienced it?
