I froze some wild garlic leaves without checking them…

So yeah i froze them without checking they werent poisonous look alikes, ive harvested them for a few seasons, so im fairly sure theyre good but im also fairly sure that same ideas killed some people. Ive picked magies for ages and still have to double check whats in the bag after, im never 100 percent personally.

Theyre all shrivelled now and dont look anything like they did before… im confident enough to eat them (all from the same nice big patch that i cant see anything but wild garlic in) but i refuse to give them to anyone, still, would be cool to share, and generally be useful and safe to know … is there any way to tell what they are for sure now theyre all frozen and shrivelled?

Or how bad would a leaf or two of a lookalike be?

Any help much appreciated

Cider, farting, and campden plus potassium sorbate

Hey, so ive made a few batches of cider now, just apple juice and yeast, i drank them after 2-3 months of being in the carbouy (with one rack after about a month), and they seem to make me fart a lot, not confirmed its their fault but does seem so.

Successful non farting brewers, what did you do differently please?

Do i need to be knocking them out, about 5 days before the rack to avoid this side effect? (Less in suspension, and won’t multiply). Campden then 24hrs later potassium sul (lag to avoid a geranium off flavor that can apparently happen if you dont wait).

I sometimes mix a cup with some apple juice and ai thinks yeast in suspension is waking up and eating the sugar and producing co2 making me fart?

- i sanitised everything with starsan
- no mould signs, looks and smells like cider
- only 100 percent apple juice and yeast and tiny amount of yeast nutrient, should be about 5% abv
- almost certain they didnt stall, good temp, no crazy additions, kraussen at the top to show they did kick off fermentation
- when i drink it, i pour from the carbouy into a jug, avoiding most of the sediment at rhe bottom, put it in the fridge and take cups from the jug on the same day
- i love apple juice and im pretty sure im not sorbitol intolerant, never noticed mass farting from it anyway, but i never drink 4l of apple juice ever tbf

Any help much appreciated:) hi

Cider vs sugar wash (seltzer/kilju) base for an alchopop esque drink?

Im hearing and seeing mixed things on the question (but no discussions directly on the question), so thought id ask here.

I love my sweet candyish drinks (as well as classier stuff too, but sometimes thats what i want), if you were to make your own “alchopop” or spirit+soda, how would you do it and why?

Cheers!

Thoughts on some “new” techs and units

Hey ive been away from the game for quite a while, and seen a couple weird and wonderful techs im curious about

- grenade launcher for fangs
- land cruiser for wraith

Just wondered how well theyve been received and good use cases/how to use if theyve been received well.

I used to play aggro basically always, just wondered how/if abyss, vortex and mountain fit into the game as an aggro player also

Cheers

Gingerbug but pine, or wild garlic?

Or anything else really, i hate ginger but found the idea so cool i started a gingerbug anyway, my first non(sorta) alchoholic ferment. Went and picked some eastern european white pine and uh i believe scotts pine earlier to try and make a pine bug but got confused about how/if it was possible/good/useful upon reconsulting mr claude (yeah i am very new to this, mr claude convinced me to do pine then convinced me it was dumb lol…)

And what uses for gingerbug are there or pine bug/garlic bug?

Any help much appreciated

Ways of adding mouthfeel, not all equal?

Hey, so im planning various brews (im fairly new), ive been using a range of ai’s and citysteading on yt for information, and rainfords lab kinda.

When planning the brews (cider), mine come out quite thin or watery apparently (and intuition would agree), adding something bulky - eg it would seem that adding something round and juicy like mango puree would bulk out an apple base.

So i bought glycerin… but is it really that easy? I get mouthfeel isnt that one dimensional, sometimes its the sour/dry puckery element (“got citric acid for that)…

How good are “quick fixes” like this? I imagine that theres at least a nuanced difference but tbh i generally quite like quite bold flavors and to drink a lot when i do, so im wondering if it is more of a nuance or a very distinct difference, obviously dont want something lame or gross, but sometimes itd be nice to make easy good to drink slop that doesnt involve eg making lots of mess and goop at the bottom but its good enough to sesh on. Id also like to know the difference for nicer occasions where the effort is warranted if that is a real tradeoff (im planning on largely using apple / cider as my base if that helps).

Ive seen black tea infusion really recommended for cider for example, i hate tea so i didnt take the advice, now i understand that was probably silly as fermentation strips flavor a lot of the time…

So maybe, what other dimensions of mouthfeel are there other than gloopiness and puckeryness?

I picked some oak leaves earlier for the job then got all confused at what i was doing with my brews lol

Cheers!

Rhino blender guide?

Hey, ive been away from the game for ages, want to know more about rhino aggro please, couldnt find anything specifically about the strat.

Or any users, how does it work?

I usually play aggro and would take them from drops but never as a primary strategy. Sometimes the pod in the centre with mobi beacon but very rare.

Hey, id like to make some sweet ciders

My first i was thinking of
- 3l apple juice (no preservatives
1 l apple and mango
- i got bread yeast or lalvin 1118, not ideal maybe, was going to use lalvin though

- add some mango puree in secondary ferment

- add some foodie flavors drops (pineapple, passionfruit, coconut sort of stuff) post ferment with some erithritol and stevia

I don’t have a widemouth so i thought wholefruit would be tricky

And basically the same thing for a cherry one but with cherry instead of tropical stuff.

Thoughts?

Hey i just started about a week ago, copied a couple youtubes for a cider and a lemon drink, id like to make nice sweet drinks some alchopoppy, some a but more classy (eg backsweetening with black cherry juice), ive been trying to use ai but it just contradicts itself constantly, tried a few different modelss and they dont seem to know. So, bow important is fining for drinks like these and whats the right thing to use if so, so many options and dont want to waste money. Any help much appreciated:)

(As an aggro player)

Hey so something ive noticed is that im hezitant to take balls in opening packs because I feel locked in once i take them. It puts all my chaff and clear in unusual spots i find because of their unusual speed for a frontline. I like the crawler on death perk if its later in the game but otherwise i feel like my actions are suboptimal.

If your balls are getting stuffed what do you do?

Cheers
