Video comments

Reddit has now added the ability to use videos in comments, akin to how photos were added.

Right now, it is allowed for anyone. As long as things stay appropriate (yall are good about that, thank you), they will stay for everyone, if there are bot issues or other things that make the need to change, we will cross that bridge when we get there.

2015 1.8 TSI Oil Burning

2015, 1.8 (stock) with 5M. About 160k miles

I am burning about a quart every 1500 miles. Just was doing some basic diagnostic work and went to pull the oil cap. Immediately the RPMs started rising and you could hear heavy vacuum. It also occasionally seems to stumble (never stall) when idling.

That makes me want to believe it is the PCV.

So, with that in mind. Long term goals for the car include trying to get around R power in the future.

Is it worth getting the Mk8 set up or just getting another Mk7 one. And if so, any recommendations for a supplier?

I am upgrading my desktop from a 2070S to a 7900XTX. Since that card uses 3 8-pin connections, I am wanting to check on how I wire it up.

The PCIe cabals that came with the PSU are double ended, 2 6+2 connectors on each. I am wanting to see if anyone has any recommendations on if I should run triple power lines from the PSU or if I can get away with two lines and have the one be plugged into two slots.

The entire set up is as follows:

OS: CentOS Stream 10 (Coughlan) x86_64
Host: MAG B550 Tomahawk
Kernel: Linux 6.19.14-1.el10.x86_64
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (16) @ 3.88 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER [Discrete] (Soon to be AMX RX 7900XTX)
Memory: 7.29 GiB / 31.00 GiB (24%)
1 SSD
4 HDD
