Goddamn this is hard work

Goddamn this is hard work

Needed one win to get to Div 2 (my usual min target), had been on a good run after a terrible start. Cue three matches where I have a total of 25 shots on target but can't score, yet the fourth I can hit 2 in 5.

The manipulation, whether Smart Assist or not, is just unreal. The difference when your neck isn't being stamped on is insane.

None of these guys were good, none of them particularly high ranked, all just hoofing the ball long and hopeful.

Meanwhile impossible double saves, unlikely tricks, glitching tackles, dropped inputs, players being switched to odd targets, etc.

This filter is going to do fk all isn't it. Too much has bled into PA1/2. That's assuming these guys aren't lying anyway.

With the end of SA at hand...

Which clubs do you expect not to see much any more?

My top ones are Man City and Rangers 😂

I've never faced one of either that doesn't use Smart Assist.

How does a Deep Lying Forward play as a lone striker?

I assume they'll drop a bit rather than being right at the tip of the sword, but will make late runs? Or will they drop into gaps like a Fox? Or will they take on being the point man role like a Poacher?

Can someone explain to me how Jeansui is #1? - credit: Jeansui09 on YT

Clearly he's got decent skill, he can do the double touch and Tess cancel nicely, but his defending is pretty poor (makes me feel better about mine!), and I see nothing particularly brilliant in how he's playing.

This isn't hating on him, he's clearly doing something right. But can someone explain what and how?

(This Read the Rules app is a pain in the arse. The short way to get through it is to go to this post, click the three dots in top right on mobile, and select "acknowledge I've read the rules". It took me 10 minutes to work that out.)

Not a fan, but he's speaking the truth - credit Mednasah YT

Don't spend until Smart Assist is removed or the filter comes and works.

There is no point.

Difficulty ranking

With all the ongoing debates between F2P, P2W Smart Assist vs PA1/2 (and the ongoing bleed from one to the other), I have created a pop ranking of difficulty in this game.

I'm noting my personal view that there is no "Meta" for FUMA, because it doesn't work the same. Further, I've excluded playstyle because everyone knows which the meta is and which the hard ones are, so you can add your own "shades of brown".

It ranks from 1 (easiest to win with) to 8 (hardest). Do you agree?

1/ Full Meta tactics and Squad + Smart Assist

= 2/ P2W squad in unusual formation + Smart Assist

= 2/ Full Meta + PA1/2

3/ Strong F2P squad in meta + Smart Assist

4/ P2W + PA1/2

5/ Strong F2P + PA1/2

= 6/ Standard F2P + PA1/2

= 6/ Strong F2P + PA3

= 6/ P2W + FUMA

= 6/ Themed F2P + SA

= 7/ Standard F2P + PA3

= 7/ Themed F2P + SA

= 7/ Strong F2P + FUMA

= 7/ Themed F2P + PA1/2

= 8/ Themed f2p + PA3

= 8/ Standard or themed F2P + FUMA

How do you defend?

I don't mean like covering passing lanes, holding the line etc but what button do you use to tackle?

Moving to cover lines? Match up? Manual standing tackle (what stupid me has been using)?

Was just chatting to an opponent who defended like Smart Assist and they said they basically just hold press (not constant, just for defensive actions). Am I the only idiot not doing this?

There are no words

I no longer have words, not even impolite ones, to express how much I fking hate this game and how it cheats.

Context: Match vs Div 3 AI (playing like a top 100 human). I'm playing FUMA with a u21s squad, on a decent run of form and wins. I dribble a lot, a few passes to open the play or move the ball from the back and through midfield, and then dribble (partly because PA4 passing and ball control - let alone player switching - is wildly inconsistent and unreliable).

I could show you input reading to make your blood boil.

I could show you clips where you can see perfect drag backs and touches just as the ball is being tackled from them. I could show you BS animations as a player with limited dribbling skills glides through three players.

I could show impossible saves, repeated blocks by multiple players and clear fouls not called by players that somehow gained 20 pace to make up 10 yards of ground to chop from behind. I could show you light-speed ping pong, so fast you can't possibly switch player to the right guy in time most of the time, yet all three goals came from ridiculous long balls from defence where my midfielder was moved out of the way and the defenders slept or couldn't lay a glove on them through pure magic shielding.

This is an absolute shitshow, a humourless farce. An epic of rage bait. A soup of diarrhoea with a floater as crouton.

And the worst thing of all? Most of this stuff also happens against Smart Assist users too. This kind of match is like playing against Smart Assist but without the human messing things up.

AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

Lots of you are F2P players, and a lot of you use Smart Assist.

It's pathetic enough to use Smart Assist when you're F2P. But once you stop using free cards, especially all you who cleared that Anime box, carrying on using Smart Assist makes you *EXACTLY THE SAME* as those P2W players who use Smart Assist.

You are the lowest of the low, you are the shite on the foot of the sewer dwelling rat.

If you don't want to be scum, maybe turn it off 👌🏻 No more excuses now kiddie.

I've seen the tooltip but I assume it isn't some magic thing, it's not a different animation or movement like Blitz, so it'll be something more like Momentum Dribbling and the others where it adds points to specific skills (in that case dribbling, for Through Balls a percentage to passing when throughball is used etc)

So, my assumption is that Magnetic Feet will add a point to Tight Possession and maybe Balance and Physical Contact for each person - up to the four max - in close proximity?

So, that's regular POTW Bruno Fernandes, in Div 4 AI divisions, turning into bastard Maradona with a small dose of Vieira thrown in 😂😂

Like, sure, make the passing sharper or cleverer, do a few tricks here and there, but we're supposed to see this and just think "yeah that seems reasonable". It's bloody Bruno! Love the lad but THAT is never going to happen 😂

Jesus wept, it's not that crazy in Div 2 AI league usually 😆

AI players with it seem like they throw themselves to the ground to win fouls that aren't fouls but just wondering if there's any evidence of it doing useful things when it's your player.

Was just looking at this new free Neymar and realised how similar it was to my old old one.

Then looked over to my old old Lainez card. His stamina was low even then 😂 not sure he'd even finish the half before he hit red.

So, what's your oldest card?
