Amazing perplexing…Wow

I am not here to blast or disrespect or disparage any person who uses their creativity and energy to be vulnerable and show off a piece of themselves for the world to critique judge compliment… answer this though, just visually answer this… first two photos are by a person who is a metal sculptor, the last one is by the man who taught me how to weld… He is a master sculptor but not once has he or have I heard him call himself an artist… 250,000 dollar commission in Apache Junction at the roundabout for a large scale installation… Many apply and yesterday I was able to find the winner, the first two photos… If you don’t have anything positive or nice to say then don’t, ok I’ll ease the fifth… This is why I dont consider myself an artist and further laments my distaste for the western culture to insist on add labels… wow just wow… no faith haha

Some recent projects

Stainless piece going to LA…love the blue glass, not happy with the base size…Second, Steel pillars rusted and red glass outside the Hilton in Tempe…janitor comes up and his comment is, they should have gone with the flag pole, that’s hideous, not realizing I made it haha… Recently learned hotels have a budget for either art or a flag pole, who knew…Can’t please everyone, doesn’t bother me one bit because he ain’t signing the check and also he has to look at it everyday while cleaning trash and fixing plugged toilets for minimum wage..Next, front entry piece that goes on a pillar clad in river rock for a gated house in Goldfield ranch…yes I made the copper roof like way to dominant in dimension and proportion, looked better in CAD haha….Lastly, copper wave water feature with patina, I always love that hue of green when the chemical sets off the oxidation reaction, of course in a year it will be calcified from our awesome water in Arizona and the cheap Chinese plastic pump will go out blah blah… I wish they would make them out of cast bronze like they used too before outsourcing out of America, smart…Now that I have an electrical degree maybe I can start adding light to some of these pieces who knows

First bridge…learned I am not an engineer…

Had to build a culvert in my backyard so i thought that hey why don’t I build a bridge, can’t be too hard… went south pretty quickly with 14 gauge that would not roll without distortion or crushing and of course, lime everything, made it way too heavy and not succinct…good times!

Conference table

A customer live oak and stainless steel conference table I did a couple years ago… it was a tedious project and logistically was a nightmare to get to the client but it all worked out… I had a friend do the wood and I did the stainless… I had to chisel out essentially a pocket for the stainless and then attached it carefully with glue and silicone… I made it way to heavy looking back but that usually is my dilemma…

Volvo xc90 2011 3.2 engine

I am having the hardest time locating the low pressure port, I see the high which is actually on a bigger diameter tube, confusing. Anyways I’m a welder not a mechanic so do I need to remove things to find it, google and the owners manual were not much help… I’m trying to check pressure and I suspect the valve is seized… Any help would be appreciated… my only guess is it’s behind the power steering reservoir or maybe near the firewall? thanks
