IME hasn’t submitted paperwork (SDI)
Hi everyone,
My husband is currently receiving SDI due to a back injury. He received a letter for an IME appointment, in which he went and was told by the IME doctor he will be extended until December. This was on 9/17. The IME doctor’s office states they are required by EDD to mail in the paperwork confirming his extension to EDD’s P.O. Box, and that it was “mailed” the same week he visited the office. However, every rep at EDD my husband has spoke to has stated that EDD has not received it. My husband asked they submit in online, in which the office is certain they are not allowed to.
Furthermore, this office has google reviews of very similar cases happening, where the office does not provide documentation of extensions for SDI recipients.
Is there anything my husband can do to help get his extension? He is stressed and dealing with his health issue not allowing him to work. He has called each party about 5 times now and when EDD attempts to call the IME provider’s office, they do not answer. Everyone is telling him to wait, but we are concerned his claim will be discontinued.
