Picked this 2019 up for $12k out the door with only 50k miles in almost perfect condition!
My kids are going to start driving soon and this will be their first car. After driving it around, I’m now shopping for an EV for myself!
Has anyone successfully registered their EGO mini bike as a moped? According to SC, it fits the criteria. I’m tempted to give it a shot, just wanted to see if anyone else has given it a go, first.
A little history:
I purchased the Z6 52” zero turn about two years ago. It it came with 6x 12AH batteries. I have built RC commercial mowers in the past using Exmark walk behind mower platforms. But never fully electric.
Fast forward to last month. I was bored and decided to look in to making this Z6 radio controlled. I tore into it and quickly discovered that these things are locked down tighter than Dick’s hat band lol.
I watched a video on YouTube where a guy used actuators to directly control the mower levers but its super janky and lame. I wanted direct control of everything!
So, I started replacing parts, coding and making adapters.
Used a RadioMaster TX16S MK3 transmitter paired with a RadioMaster dual band receiver, 5x 75100 VESCs, a microcontroller, CAN transceiver and various power converters to complete the conversion.
Receiver communicates with the microcontroller via CRSF, custom code on the microcontroller handles mixing and safeties and communicates via a can transceiver with the aftermarket VESCs. I opted to use the stock EGO BMS and display to maintain use of the OEM charger and to monitor battery level. I gutted everything else that was unnecessary and spent many hours tuning everything. It works better than I ever expected!
