The Doughboys - Montreal Qc
Just completed the 90’s run of the DoughBoys albums. now to track down their first two albums. Killer Canadian band, though I gotta admit that final album cover had me second guessing if it was the same band.

I bought this in a used bookshop about 15 years ago. It’s a first edition, just Wish I knew if the signature was real.
Scored these beauties at a local thrift shop yesterday… yall know I love me some Montreal bands and Grim Skunk is legendary. Not to label them but l I’ve seen the words “world punk” ascribed to them… and once you hear them, you’ll probably agree it fits.these are their first two LPs
Recently bought a heritage whole wheat flour and really wanted to try it out as a pizza crust. Taste was great abut a bit heavy.
August record wall is up, and this one should be pretty obvious… close up cover shots. Inspired by the Aweosme new Bobby Lees album cover. Some of these albums I’ve haven’t listen to in while.
I think my favourite think looking at the wall now is how Jim Croce is the only one smiling and not taking himself seriously (Muddy portrait has a slight smirk)
Gotta admit It was hard to narrow it down to just these 18.
While on a vacation road trip this week I made a few stops at some of my favorite out of town record shops and left with CDs not Vinyl… Tim at @
zaps even used the dreaded “CD Guy” term, ouch lol… yes I’ve been adding some CD’s into the mix, focusing on 90s Canadian bands.. this is my haul from today… stoked to finally track down some Glueleg, Furnaceface and Eric’s Trip debut Love Tara.. the Hayden live at convocation Hall is the only Hayden album not available on vinyl, it was the first spin from this pile
I had never heard of this one, but it has some bangers, The Canadian Music Week 1996 promotional CD is a comp curated by the festival to showcase rising independent Canadian talent.
This CD was distributed directly during Canadian Music Week 1996, which ran from March 4 to March 10, 1996, at legendary Toronto venues like El Mocambo and Lee's Palace.
Jale was a killer Halifax based band that was scooped up by SUBPOP in the 90’s, along with a few other bands in the region. This is their first of three albums and my personal favourite… if you haven’t already, give them a listen.
My July record wall is up, and I had to try hard not too on just the rough up some Canadian classic again, so this time around it’s a birthday wall, each of these albums celebrate a birthday in the month of July. Hard to pick a fav on this list, but think Ill start with Maggot Brain
Bionic is the first album from Sandbox a short lived (2 albums) Canadian alt-rock band from Nova Scotia. Two fun facts… (1) lead singer Paul Murray is the nephew of Canadian legend Anne Murray and (2)Guitar player Mike Smith is better known as his alter ego “Bubbles” from the Trailer Park Boys… fun album, check it out if you don’t know it.
Starting off a new week with the new Bobby Lees album.. we almost lost them last year when they temporarily called it quits… I’m thankful for the new music and tour… and Jason Momoa who loves the band and helped them get this made
These are Korean inspired smoked and grilled ribs. Sauced with honey and Gochujang, with some toasted sesame and cilantro. The devilled eggs and have gochujang.
My June record wall is up, and this month I’m dissecting Rolling Stones top 100 Punk albums of all time. This will be a multi parter, starting with a mix of my favs albums from across the list, many if not most of which have questionable placement… they are in order from lowest ranked (top left) to highest (bottom right). Swipe to see the actual ranking by album and again to see the year each album was released.
Bought some incredible pioppino mushrooms from a local mushroom producer (Top Cap Fungi )this weekend and knew immediately they were destined for a pizza.. along with pesto fresh mozzarella and a squeeze of lemon. The second was a classic hot honey and pepperoni but with shredded pepperoni which cooks up really well.
11ft pole, but they found me. Baffle ordered
A few days late but the May record wall came together nicely… if your not sure what this months theme is… it’s albums that all share the same birth month… MAY.. and they are sitting in order of their birth year… today I learned that Black Sabbath Paranoid is older than Bob Dylan’s Blood on the tracks! No real surprises with the rest really, though I would have slotted Tool in earlier if I was just sorting album covers from memory
Another one I was happy to land on RSD was this Xmal Deutschland Peel sessions comp, I had originally missed it when scouring the list but stoked to see one available on the day. Who doesn’t love a good peel sessions session.
