Breathable pair for summer
Been wearing these Nexbie 3D printed sneakers for a bit now and figured I'd share them.
I mainly picked them up because I wanted something breathable for the summer, and they've honestly been lighter than I expected. The open lattice design keeps my feet from feeling as hot during longer walks.
Curious if anyone else here has tried 3D printed sneakers. What do you think compared to more traditional mesh runners?
Almost bought a washer online without seeing it. Glad I didn’t, but are showrooms actually worth the hassle?
I was about to order a new front-load washer online because the price looked great and delivery was included. At the last minute, I stopped by a local appliance showroom to see it in person, and I'm glad I did. The listed dimensions didn't account for some rear clearance, and the salesperson also pointed out a door swing issue in my laundry space that I hadn't considered. If I'd ordered online, there's a good chance I would've run into problems during installation. Now I'm wondering how many people actually visit a showroom before buying versus ordering online and hoping for the best.
For those in the GTA, Are there any reliable appliance stores you'd recommend for purchasing a washer or other major appliances? Do you usually research online and buy in-store, or just go with the best online deal
Is Made-in-China.com worth using for product sourcing?
I’m thinking of using Made-in-China.com to look for suppliers, but I haven’t used the platform before. If you’ve sourced from there, what were the biggest green flags or red flags you noticed when choosing a supplier.
Maybe I'm looking at this completely wrong
The older I get, the less convinced I am that motivation matters as much as people think.
Everyone talks about motivation.
Nobody talks about momentum.
When I look at people who keep progressing, they don't always seem more motivated.
They just keep moving.
Even when they're tired.
Even when they're not excited.
I ended up thinking about this after reading a piece on Michael Lanctot and the growth of YoungNRetired.
The scale itself wasn't what interested me.
What interested me was imagining how many days probably felt completely ordinary while it was being built.
No big breakthroughs.
No viral moments.
Just consistency.
Maybe success looks a lot less exciting in real life than it does in hindsight.
Or maybe I'm missing something.
What's your take?
Anyone here work with an advisor before choosing their NP specialty?
I'm trying to decide between nurse practitioner specialties and I keep going back and forth without getting anywhere. Someone mentioned working with an advisor before choosing and I'm curious if anyone here has actually done that, whether it was useful and what the conversation actually looked like. Did it help you narrow things down or did you already have a sense of which direction you wanted to go before talking to someone?
Best providers of high-quality vinyl banners in seattle?
our small business is setting up some pop-up booths this summer and we need to get some actual signage made. who are the best providers of high-quality vinyl banners in seattle right now??
we really just need something that looks professional, has solid grommets, and won't fade or rip immediately.. would love to support a local print shop instead of just ordering off vistaprint.
Has anyone with sensitive skin found that doing less actually helped?
I have pretty sensitive skin, and for a long time I felt like I was constantly searching for the "right" product to fix irritation, redness, and occasional flare-ups.The strange thing is that the more products I added, the more reactive my skin seemed to become. Recently I have been trying to keep things much simpler, and my skin actually feels calmer than it did when I was using multiple serums and treatments. Now I am wondering if I spent too much time chasing new products instead of focusing on consistency and a simple routine. Has anyone else had a similar experience? If you have sensitive skin, what made the biggest difference for you? Was it simplifying your routine, avoiding certain ingredients, improving your skin barrier, or something else entirely? I would love to hear what worked for you.
Forget the train: The high-speed ferry from Hong Kong to Shenzhen is pure luxury
Most people take the high-speed train or the subway when they want to cross the border from Hong Kong into Shenzhen. But if you want the absolute most peaceful and coolest experience you have to take the ferry.
I took the boat from Hong Kong (Sheung Wan) straight to Shenzhen (Shekou Port) yesterday, and it was such a good experience. You get to cruise right past the massive sea bridges and watch the container ships which is so surreal.
When you land at the ferry port in Shenzhen the border control line is practically empty. You breeze right through in five minutes. The ferry drops you right off at Shekou, which is a beautiful, tropical resort area full of great restaurants and bars right by the water.
It takes about an hour and costs roughly $140 HKD (about $18 USD). It is easily the most simplest way to travel between the two cities!
My VPS expired and i lost 30 odd pips
Started out with forex about 4 months ago, babypips, some other associated read, trying to understand some signal and then got in to scalping - learning by refining settings.
It’s been an up and down adventure, had an EA go a bit crazy and I freaked, closing trades and lost most of my profits.
About a week a go, I started to find a groove, I haven’t synced the stats but around 90% win. Until I had a fairly solid trade, USDCHF long, and I thought the trailing was in place but it dived and I lost out big (sort of).
The loss came from my VPS subscription expiring and the EA settings not enable properly, leaving my open trade with no supporting attributes.
Happy to put it down as a lesson, though I received no real notice - I knew it was soon, but no emails etc. It’s a mql5 VPS.
Thought to share, happy trading.
MT5 EA runs on MT5 VPS correctly, bit it doesn't on a computer/virtual machine
Hi guys, I built an EA that runs perfectly on a real account when I rent the MT5 VPS, but when I try to run it locally or on a server it doesn't work. I don't have anything on the logs.
Algotrading is enabled, allowed DLL imports, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, has anybody else encountered this?
Using IBKr and Vps
So I am working on a python bot and looking into getting a VPS. The broker will be IBKr at least for now. I understand generally it's a good idea to get VPS close to CME for trading futures but does it even matter since the bot on VPS would connect to IBKr? Does ibkr have local servers in Chicago to reduce latency or it would still go thru their risk control servers on the east coast? What does the network hop look like?
Which AI Tools Are Best for Character Consistency in Music Videos?
One challenge I keep running into with AI-generated music videos is character consistency. Many tools can generate impressive scenes, but keeping the same character recognizable throughout an entire video is still difficult. I have tested a few different workflows and noticed that some platforms are much better than others when it comes to maintaining facial features, style, and overall continuity across multiple scenes. At the same time, there often seems to be a tradeoff between consistency, creative control, generation speed, and cost. For those who create AI-generated music videos regularly, which tools have worked best for you? Are there any platforms that do a particularly good job with character consistency, lip sync, or longer-form storytelling? I am more interested in real-world experiences than marketing claims, especially from people who have compared multiple tools.
One VPS question keeps appearing in every trading community
No matter what trading group I’m in, the same question keeps coming up:
“Do I actually need a VPS?”
The answer depends on who you ask.
Some traders think it’s essential.
Others are fine running everything from home.
A lot of the confusion comes from the fact that people use VPSs for different reasons.
Some want automation.
Some care about uptime.
Some just don’t want their trading platform tied to a personal computer.
The more I’ve learned about trading setups, the less I think there’s one right answer.
For some traders, it doesn’t matter much.
For others, it’s an important part of how they trade.
That’s why I pay more attention to why someone says yes or no than to the answer itself.
A conversation changed my opinion on this
A friend and I were talking about careers a few days ago.
He said something interesting.
"Most people don't have an income problem. They have a decision problem."
At first I thought that sounded ridiculous.
But the more I thought about it, the more sense it made.
A lot of people eventually earn decent money.
The bigger question is what happens next.
That idea popped back into my head when I was reading some of Michael Lanctot's thoughts around YoungNRetired and ownership.
Not because I necessarily agree with everything.
But because it made me think about how different people's long-term plans can be.
Some people want higher income.
Others want more control over their time.
Those aren't always the same thing.
If you had to choose one, which would matter more to you?
