Trying to cut down on plastic without replacing everything I own

I’ve been paying more attention lately to how much plastic I use every day and I didn’t realize how hard it is to avoid.

A lot of my kitchen stuff, food storage, drinks, bathroom products and random things around my apartment are plastic.

I want to start making better choices, but I’m not trying to empty my apartment and rebuy everything in one weekend.

For people who have already gone through this, what actually gave you the biggest improvement in the beginning?

What did you stop buying first?

What did you keep using until it needed to be replaced?

Were there any plastic items you felt were worth replacing right away, especially anything involving food, water or heat?

I’m mainly trying to figure out what is worth caring about first and what I can leave alone for now.

I’d rather slowly make good changes than spend a ton of money and get overwhelmed.

If you were starting over today, what would you focus on first?

Where do I even start making my home less toxic without spending a fortune?

Where do I even start making my home less toxic without spending a fortune?

I’m starting to realize there are a lot of things in my apartment that probably aren’t the best. Cleaning products, soaps, plastic stuff, cookware, fragrances, laundry stuff and just random things around the house.

I honestly don’t know where to start and I really don’t want to throw everything away and spend a shit ton of money replacing my whole apartment at once.

If you were starting from basically zero, what would you change first?

I’m looking for the stuff that actually makes the biggest difference, not just replacing things because something says non toxic on the label.

Would you just replace things as they run out? Are there certain things you would get rid of right away?

What are like the first 5 or 10 things you would focus on?
I live in an apartment so I’m looking for realistic changes that aren’t going to cost me hundreds or thousands of dollars.

Basically where do I even start?

ULPT Request: People Feeding Feral Cats Outside My Apartment

People in my apartment complex keep feeding feral cats directly behind my building, and it’s attracting them to my porch.

The cats keep coming onto my patio and leaving feces, and it’s become a sanitation issue. I’ve politely asked the people feeding them to stop, but they continue doing it anyway.

Management is aware of the issue and even sent a community-wide email asking residents not to feed the feral cats, but the same people keep doing it. I’ve also reported it multiple times and have found bowls, food containers, and water left behind my building.

I don’t want to hurt the cats. I just want a way to get the feeding to stop without it coming back to me or creating problems with my neighbors.

Any ideas?

36 [M4F] Florida guy looking for something real

Hi, I’m a 36-year-old guy from Florida looking to meet someone and see where things go. I’m open to starting as friends, talking, and building something naturally if there’s a connection.

Things to know about me:

I’m easygoing, loyal, and honest.

I like music, movies, sports, staying active, and having real conversations.

I can be a little quiet or direct at first, but I open up more once I’m comfortable.

I’m looking for something genuine, not games or mixed signals.

I value kindness, patience, communication, and consistency.

Things I’m looking for:

Please be kind and emotionally available.

Please be open to getting to know each other slowly.

Please be honest about what you’re looking for.

Someone local to Florida is preferred, but I’m open to chatting first.

That’s pretty much it. If you’re interested, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself.
