Counterfeit when it’s not?

I recently had a bottle of perfume I was selling flagged as counterfeit when it definitely is not. I sent eBay the requested proof and have been waiting to hear back.

What makes me mad is, when I called to follow up today, I mentioned that all of my other postings suddenly have no new views on them. They told me this was due to the fact my account was flagged for the counterfeit item.

I’m not a big seller on eBay, I just sell items I have excess of or don’t need any longer. That said though, I have 100% positive feedback for the dozen or so sales I’ve made over the last six months. This is really frustrating as I have 4 or 5 items I want to sell.

Any suggestions?

Disappointed

Anyone else disappointed by the Archives sale? Not necessarily with the items being offered, but with the overall execution?

It started with an email accidentally announcing the sale a month or so early. Then, once the sale actually launched, items that were listed as available turned out not to be, and orders were cancelled. Even stranger, some items that had sold out were later added back to the website as available, only for those orders to eventually be cancelled as well. That happened to me.

And the website experience has been pretty terrible. Items repeatedly appeared as I scrolled, making it difficult to even figure out what was actually available. I also found it odd that additional items, like the large Ambre candle, were added halfway through the sale. It started to feel less like a curated Archives sale and more like, “Let’s see what else is sitting in the storage room and put that up for sale.”

Now, today, I get an email saying it’s the last chance to shop the Archives sale and suddenly there’s an additional gift-with-purchase item: matches. Why wasn’t that offered from the beginning?

I’m not upset about any particular item I did or didn’t get. It’s really the execution of the whole thing that has been disappointing. For a brand like Diptyque, the sale just felt surprisingly disorganized and poorly managed.

Updates to the Archives Sale?

Just went back and looked, a few items that were sold out are now back in stock (e.g. the gold snuffer) and items are being added (e.g. the Ambre candle)? Should we expect offerings to continue to change?

Samples and Gifts - what is the norm?

I’m curious what everyone else’s experience has been with samples and gifts when shopping at Diptyque. Do you typically notice a difference between purchasing online versus in a boutique?

The reason I ask is that I usually work with the same SA. Last week, though, I purchased Lazulio from a different SA at the same boutique. She knows who I am and knows I’m a regular customer - I probably spend around $5,000 a year there. Just the week prior, this SA was there when I purchased two 1,500g candles.

With my Lazulio purchase, I received two 2 mL samples and that was it. My usual SA would typically include something like a mini candle or a deluxe fragrance sample.

What made me wonder is that if I had purchased the exact same item from the Diptyque website currently, I would have received the summer fan, a Lazulio sample, two additional fragrance samples, and the 7.5 mL Eau des Sens.

Is this just a difference between individual SAs? Do they have guidelines to follow or is it at their discretion? I’d genuinely love to hear what others typically experience.

Has anyone been successful in getting the CA DMV to waive/refund their registration penalty fee for being late?

Has anyone been successful in getting the CA DMV to waive their registration penalty fee for being late? I was expecting a renewal notice, but never got one. That would have been my trigger to pay it. I just realized it wasn’t paid (about a month past due) and went online and took care of it, but I think charging someone a $250+ late fee is ridiculous when no notification was sent.

My summer buys…. The Water Garden Pyramid Candle Holder goes well with the prior summer candle holders.
