Apple Korok question

Apple Korok question

I’m in Hyrule Field trying to sort out this Korok. What is puzzling me is the tree on the right doesnt have an apple. It was like this when I showed up. Not really sure what to make of it. I’ve reloaded several times and the apple hasn’t been there.

If it helps, this is my third attempt after a blood moon. First time I blew up the middle tree with a bomb fighting some rock dudes. Second time lightning exploded the middle tree for some reason. Now I’m back again and unsure if I’m just doing the puzzle wrong or if I’m having a program issue with the game.

Stumped on korok

I’m a pretty seasoned player and am trying to find all koroks. Been looking for this Korok for thirty minutes. It’s supposed to be in this small ruins looking area. The minimap has a sword I marked the center between three shields that you nsicate where my korok mask started tracking it so I know almost exactly where it is supposed to be by still no clue how to find it. On the Korok tracker screenshot it is number 22. Just west of dueling peaks between South Nabi, Nab, and Batrea lakes.

Any tips or ideas are welcome. And thank you!

Edit: Good call everyone. Jump the fences with a horse. How the hell any of you figured this out is awesome. Thank you for the timely support!

Sheetz is better than Buc-ees

Sheetz has everything people claim to love Buc-ees for, but do it better and do more. There are always enough pumps, it is well lit, bathrooms are clean, and food is hot. But even better, the food is to-order! And insanely affordable. They provide free Wi-Fi. And it isn’t a consumerism hellhole that insists upon itself. They don’t have a track record of litigation against small companies. They don’t displace large numbers of local companies by trying to do everything. They are readily available all over the place instead of some Mecca-like monstrosity. Sheetz loyalists arent personally offended and feel like youve spit on all they hold dear if you don’t like it. Sheetz kicks ass. Buc-ees and all their cultist followers can go kick rocks.

Update on my vent from yesterday

Thanks everyone for the positive support yesterday after my vent post losing on the last enemy in the master trials master mode first floor. Hopped on tonight and cleared it first try. Thought I’d share a few ideas since I’ve watched like 15 different videos on this and what worked.

  1. That room 10 with the two silver lizalfos is pretty easy to clear if you do it right. Everyone says to stasis the middle bow guy and shoot quick (yes do this). Then saw a bunch of people with different strategies to try the other silver guys. Most involved some hope they didn’t fall in the water while sneakstriking them. What I ended up doing was getting close behind them then shooting an arrow beside them. Doing this makes them change direction by 90 degrees, which then allows you to rotate your sneak strikes parallel to the edge of the platform. Basically no chance of falling off. Just start with the guy on the left. In my research, he always seemed to be the one more likely to stay on the deck, so if by some chance one does fall in, make it the last one you are fighting.

  2. On stage 11, I skipped the boat completely. If you use cryonis to get across, you can hide behind them and the now bokoblins totally forget about you. this gives you time to pop up and clear them out while before they shoot back.

  3. 100% be sure to grab a korok leaf on the first couple stages or even in the break room. Stage 11 was stupid easy just blowing everyone off the deck. Since I died to the moblin there yesterday, what I did was lured him to the very bottom platform and swam to another platform to stasis and headshot until he slumped into the water. He just stood there, so super low risk.

The other stages just took some practice luring guys out one at a time. With that down the rest came pretty straightforward. I should also note that I used a 4 banana and dragon horn meal before going in and a hearty truffle to get max hearts.

Thanks again everyone for your encouragement!

A quick vent

Made it all the way to the end of stage 11 in first master trials on master mode. Dumb Moblin of all things one swing kills me with over half hearts. One stupid guy away from finally beating this thing. Had no idea he hit so hard.

Thank you for listening strangers of Reddit. Just had to vent somewhere.

Does postponing the Yiga shrine delay Yiga appearances?

I’m on my second play through and first on master mode. I’ve gotten all shrines save the one next to Kakariko where the Yiga muscle bro shows up. My hope has been that if he never shows up, then the muscle bros wont start showing up around the map. I find them harder to deal with than the spinning arrow ninjas. And so far it seems to be the case, even after clearing the Yiga hideout

Can anyone confirm if that is true? That muscle bros only start appearing after you clear that specific shrine?

Korok help

I’ve looked everywhere on the forums and can’t find info. I used a map to locate a Korok and supposedly it’s in this spot but I have spent 40 min looking. any ideas where to find it? looks like it is near this giant bird statue by raddled lake.

Edit: Star shows where it ought to be. Tried to narrow in using the pots that show the edges of the mask sensing range.

Learning how to fish in Pennsylvania

I recently moved to Pennsylvania and will be here for a few years. I grew up doing a lot of high mountain bait fishing using power bait for trout. I thought those skills would translate well here. Am finding out they do not and that I am having a miserable time fishing here because all I catch is lake-bottom sludgery and plant goop.

Does anyone have advice on how to start fishing in PA?

Champions Ballad Appreciation Post

I recently acquired BOTW as my first Zelda experience. Finished the normal game then thought I’d like to try master mode and bought the dlc. From the spoilers I happened across here, I assumed there was some cool extra armor and stuff and then the master trials (still getting whooped on that). And then I assumed some extra shrines for the champions ballad. But holy guacamole was this good! Just finished getting this sick motorcycle. That shrine dude standing up, moving, and throwing hands on that floating deck?! The added story and videos for each champion. King Molduga. The one hit obliterater. Damn waterblight on master mode in the illusory realm. An extra divine beast puzzle?! It was challenging, frustrating enough but not too much to clear the tough spots, rewarding, just awesome. Did not expect to feel so satisfied with spending more on the dlc. Money well spent.

Hoping I feel the same way once I overcome the master trials.

Master mode tips

Just got the DLC and wanted to try playing through on master mode. Am I supposed to just avoid all combat? Every enemy uses up every weapon I own. Either that or I have to save before each fight so I can perfectly drop magnetic crates or push boulders perfectly or just knock baddies off cliffs. It is insanely tedious. I feel like I am missing something because there is little joy in me playing this right now.

Are We Confusing Baptismal Readiness With Baptismal Eligibility?

I am trying to articulate a concern about a possible mismatch between the mission’s baptism-focused process, the ward’s long-term responsibility for new members, and the actual readiness of some people who are being baptized.

My concern is not that people should be kept from baptism unnecessarily. I believe baptism is sacred and should be available to all who are prepared and truly desire it. But I worry that in practice, preparation is sometimes being treated more like a checklist than a process of conversion, understanding, repentance, commitment, and connection to the ward.

The issue is not simply whether someone has technically met the minimum requirements for baptism. The issue is what those requirements are supposed to indicate. For example, sacrament meeting attendance should not merely mean that someone has been physically present in the building a certain number of times. It should be one indicator that they are beginning to worship with the Saints, understand the Church they are joining, build relationships in the ward, and develop momentum toward a covenant life. When someone has attended sacrament meeting a few scattered times, has been taught lessons they may not actually understand, answers baptismal interview questions without knowing what those questions mean, and has not built real relationships in the ward, baptism becomes a fragile moment rather than the beginning of a sustainable covenant life.

I am also concerned that we sometimes assume teaching has occurred simply because words have been said. This is not just a missionary problem; I think many of us who teach in the Church fall into this pattern. We explain something, ask “Does that make sense?”, receive a polite yes, and then move on. But people often say yes even when they do not understand. In my experience, when people are asked to explain back what they understand about the Book of Mormon, the Restoration, priesthood authority, baptismal covenants, repentance, or the distinct claims of the Church, their understanding is often much less clear than we assumed. That suggests we may be teaching for exposure more than teaching for understanding.

Because of that, I think we need better ways to ask what people actually understand, what they believe, what commitments they think they are making, what changes they are prepared to make, and what support they need from the ward. I do not think this should be adversarial or gatekeeping. It should be part of helping people make informed, sincere, covenantal choices.

Another concern is that the ward is sometimes being asked to retain people it did not meaningfully help prepare. The missionaries may be focused on the immediate path to baptism, but the ward becomes the person’s long-term spiritual home. The ward cannot function only as an after-baptism retention mechanism. Belonging, trust, support, friendship, and discipleship cannot be manufactured after the missionaries leave. The ward needs to be involved earlier and more intentionally, not to slow the work down, but to make the work more sustainable.

That leads to my broader question: how do we better align the mission and the ward so that baptism is not delayed unnecessarily, but also not rushed in a way that leaves people confused, unsupported, or unprepared afterward? I do not want to create unnecessary barriers to baptism. But I also do not want baptism to become a moment someone passes through without understanding the covenant they are making or developing the support they will need to continue.

I am also unsure how to think about the incentives missionaries may be receiving. I do not want to assume bad motives, and I recognize that missionaries are young, sincere, and trying to follow the direction they are given. But I worry that some mission-level pressures may unintentionally encourage a short-term view of the work. For example, frequent transfers can create pressure to help someone get baptized quickly so the missionaries can be there for the baptism or feel that the result happened during their time in the area. Similarly, simplified motivational phrases about not delaying baptism or not postponing salvation can be spiritually well-intended, but they may also lead missionaries to treat any concern about readiness as a lack of faith rather than as a legitimate pastoral concern.

So I am looking for counsel on my role. As ward mission leader, it isn't my place to veto baptisms or criticize missionaries. But I do feel some responsibility to advocate for the long-term spiritual welfare of the people being taught. I want to help the missionaries teach for understanding, help the ward build relationships earlier, and help everyone focus not only on whether someone can be baptized soon, but whether they are being prepared for a sustainable life of discipleship afterward.

The question I am wrestling with is this: how can I raise concerns about readiness, understanding, and ward connection in a way that supports the missionaries, respects priesthood keys and mission responsibilities, and still protects the long-term spiritual welfare of the people being taught?
