Prearranged loan with lender!

I have been clean for 5 days, but in those five days, I had a minimal amount in my bank account. I had bills due and didn’t gamble it away, so that’s a small victory. However, I get paid this Friday, and I’m already in anticipation of what will come next. Even worse is that Wimbledon starts on the following Monday, so I know I’ll have to fight the urges even harder.

I welcome the challenge though! It’s going to suck and hurt a bit, but getting past this hurdle on Friday will be kinda fun, actually! Wish me luck. Feel free to message me if anybody would like to talk and discuss anything. We can do this.

I saw a post sometime ago, either on here or another subreddit where the poster said the worst part about the gambling addiction isn’t losing the money, but it’s about the lying. That post woke me up, and I’ve finally built up the courage to self exclude (except on one site where I have an issue in taking the funds out first, but I’ll do it immediately after).

But looking back, I’m now filled with so much shame and regret about how much I’ve lied to my family. I come from a family of immigrants who’ve taken care of me every step of the way and have an older brother who made endless sacrifices for me. I now make the highest salary anyone in my entire family has ever made, but I basically haven’t given anyone any of it since I gamble it all away and then lie to their faces making up an expense or lying about a fake emergency. I feel so much guilt and shame, but not anymore. I won’t lie to myself or to my family any longer. I’m done feeling this way.

To anyone who read this, I appreciate you so much. I know we can get through this together.
