Bought these two rare 1985 Pearl DRX-1 drum pads for 30 bucks

I’m not really a drummer, I bought them for using them for a project and also as collectors pieces.

These are the first version that came out in april 1985 before Simmons asked other brand to stop using the famous hexagonal shape. So production time of the kit was less than one year, before another version of this one with different pad shape was released.

What type of tom rack should I use to put these two pad ? And also what type of drum stick should I buy for not damaging too much the rubber head ? I got pretty big hands.

Updated version of my last pad to trigger circuit

I modified the protection stage in front of the input (added TVS diodes and series resistors), and added a 10k before the Sensivity knob.

I quickly designed this "E-Drum pad to trigger converter". I'll soon get two vintage pearl pads, and try building it

The main avantage is I can get velocity control for drums circuit I plan to build. Do anyone has an idea to limit the trigger output voltage level to 5V ? Or is it fine like this ? Also where can I add a LED ? It could looks cool.

If you're wondering what type of pads I'll use 80s Pearl DRX-1 hexagonal pads

Any idea on how I could make a “blend” mixer ?

Basically I want to combine some white noise with the oscillator sound for making a snare drum, and I want to implement a pot that can blend the two signal together: when it’s in middle position you hear both equally but I can choose if I want only the noise or only the oscillator. Thanks in advance for ur help !

I need some help on what should I do for restoring this old recording, especially the sort of stereo/phase issue at the beginning

For more context this came from a magnito-album (albums made by indie Soviet artists during the 80s) and the original master of this one is not findable, the audio probably come from a bootleg cassette (that was the main way people distributed songs) so the audio is really low quality.

the video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t6UlUPNwY0

the dynamic is not great, and there a sort of stereo problem at the beginning when vocals come, and I didnt managed to get rid of it. Any ideas ? Thanks in advance !

I got my first vintage synth for my birthday : Casio PT-31 with original box

I bought it 30 bucks, it’s a good buy, only 4 keys doesn’t work but I think contact pads can be easily repaired

My friend's 1994 Gibson Nighthawk has a cracked neck. Can it be saved ?

Not too long ago he brought his guitar for our rehearsal but i quickly spoted that something was wrong. We immediately unwinded the string for not causing any more issue. A while back it was already broken and repaired. It seems it broke again. A simple reglue could do the job or it needs more repair ?
