You don’t know what you got until it’s gone

My family and I recently visited New Mexico, and stayed in Santa Fe for a few days. I kept smelling this smell that smelled so good, and I didn’t realize I was smelling roasted green Chile’s until a day or two there. I started noticing how many people had roasters in their yards.

I’m back in Ohio and miss that smell so much. That, along with the blue corn donuts and blue corn sourdough pizza crust. I miss your state and it’s beautiful scenery, smells, and food.

Bethel on Nugs

Ok, this looks awesome and I’m having serious FOMO right now. I think I need to be at this one next year if they do it again.

Those of you that attended the shows this weekend, please give us pros and cons.

Magoo • Beachland Ballroom • Cleveland, OH 7/18/26

I saw Magoo for the first time last night in Cleveland. Over the past couple years I’ve seen Billy Strings, Greensky, Mountain Grass Unit, Shadowgrass, and Kitchen Dwellers among others and this band is an elite live jamgrass band.

Do not miss them if they come to your town. Loved the crowd and venue. Mountain Grass Unit is playing there next month. Go see them

Y’all are a blast to hang out with at Deer Creek

This was my third show since the pandemic ended and I’ve only seen three Phish shows. With each one, I wonder what took me so long?

Primus

I first saw Primus at Lollapalooza in 1993. Last night I saw Claypool Gold in Columbus, Ohio and Primus is still one of the best live bands. Such a diverse crowd as well.

Brandi Carlile 9/12

This venue has been on my bucket list. I have to schedule vacation time for work ahead of time and was hoping for Greensky Bluegrass to play because they had played around that same time every year, but I’m excited to experience Brandi and Stephen Wilson Jr.

My wife and two adult sons are attending, and we’re staying 5 miles from the venue in Indian Hills and will have a rental car.

Just some questions about parking and the area.

We’d like to park in the north lot, do we need to get there early to be able to get a space there?

Any suggestions for cool and unique restaurants and shops/record stores to check out?

We’re planning on arriving to the area on 9/11 and leaving 9/14 to drive down to Santa Fe. We’re going to check out Meow Wolf and I’ve been doing a lot of research. Just wanted some advice from locals.

Thanks in advance

Tender The Flesh

This book (Tender IS The Flesh) by Agustina Bazterrica is absolutely horrific. My jaw dropped multiple times as I was listening to this.

For those curious, it’s a story of a world where a virus infects animals causing humans to be sick. So they begin to produce “Special Meat”. This is essentially a cannibalistic nightmare and extremely dark.
