Update on my last post…

Well, I don’t know if anyone is really interested or not, but since my last post I have since concluded that I definitely have waves in my hair haha. So now I’m on to the figuring out how to style them phase. The first photo is after my most recent experiment and the second is the original I posted in here when I was asking people if they thought I had swavy hair because I wasn’t really sure.

I wanted to start minimally and cheaply when testing out how wavy my hair actually is, so this time I did not towel dry and just scrunched a bunch of mousse it when it was wet and then let it air dry. I did find a wavy/curly hair stylist that I’m going to see in about a month and in the mean time I will continue experimenting. I think I will try diffusing next. Just figured there may be other people interested in the process along the way since I’m guessing there’s other people on here that are in the same position as me just discovering they have wavy hair 😅

Any wavy hair pros here that can weigh in for me?

I feel a little silly asking this, but recently I stumbled across a random video of someone saying that they never realized they actually had wavy, not straight hair. I’m of Asian decent and have always thought my hair was straight it is very thick and coarse, but it has always held curls very well if I curled it. On a regular day I would towel dry it and comb it out and it would dry fairly straight. However, if I didn’t comb it all and let it air dry there would be a slight wave, but would kind of go away as it dried. After seeing this video I decided to “test” some things out. So when I got out of the shower I did not towel dry it, put a light damage repair spray in, scrunched, plopped for maybe 20 minutes and have been letting it air dry. My hair is still a bit damp in this photo but this was the result. So does my hair have enough wave to try and style it wavy? Or is it just not stick straight…

TLDR: Is this enough wave that it’s worth it to actually put effort in to try and style it wavy? If so how do I encourage waves without the frizz? I’m of Asian decent and have very thick/coarse hair. Any help appreciated!!

This is my second set of the new press on by Ohora. So far I’m impressed by these overall - the designs are cute (but more limited since they only started recently making them), the ease of putting them on with the supplied “primer” is great, the longevity seems good (the first set I tried stayed put no problem until I removed them and felt secure the whole time, I only removed them after a week to change sets but I think they could have easily lasted 10-14 days). I think I’ll continue to test these out for the next several sets!
