Please Help..

I’m trying to swap my main router from and Asus ax55 to an Asus gs-ax5400.

For context, my ax55 is my main router and my other gs-ax5400 was an access point, well I basically wanna swap the roles of these 2 routers but when put the ax5400 into router mode, it constantly says “disconnected” on the main network map tab and I have tried everything to rebooting my modem and then rebooting the ax5400 to power cycling and fully resetting it but nothing seems to work. It does however still provide an internet connection.

If I was to swap the ax5400 back with the ax55 I guarantee it will connect no problem. I assume the issue is with dhcp and automatic ip assignment?

I want to swap the routers due to the ax5400 having more ram cause my ax55 usually gets up to about 90-95% usage in ram. Which I know unused ram is wasted ram for routers but I’d like to avoid connection issues.

Windows Boot Drive Issue

So I was dual booting Windows 11 and linux mint both installed on separate drives, well I hardly used Linux mint and wanted to free up the drive it was on so I deleted the main storage partition and then I entered into windows recovery mode to clean the EFI partition OF THE LINUX DRIVE via the command line because doing so within windows would not work. Well doing it inside of WinRE worked but when i went to reboot my computer, it went straight into the bios with no boot drive or any drive for that matter showing up as bootable devices. Although if i enable CSM Mode in the bios, all my drives including the drive windows is installed on are detected but Im unable to boot into it still. So I figured maybe the MBR got damaged and made a windows bootable USB to go into the startup repair option but everytime I select "Repair my pc" it just goes black and restarts back into the start of the windows setup. I also tried moving my boot drive into my second pc to see if anything would be different but its all the same. Weirdly, if i go through the process of installing windows through the installtion media, it shows the boot drive and all the partitions are still there so idk why its not detecting. Im actually writing this on my second windows 11 pc with the boot drive of my main pc still installed and its not detecting the drive here either. Im hoping I wont have to just reinstall windows all together but i guess if i have to then it is what it is but i figured i ask first before doing all that.

I will start by explaing my setup. I have 2 routers, one in router mode and one in AP mode. The one in AP mode which is the ASUS AX5400; All but one of the ethernet ports just stopped working. The router thats in router mode which is the ASUS AX55 is fine, everything works and my idea was to swap the 2 routers so that I could have some working ethernet ports. Well, when I turned my AX5400 into router mode and connected it to my modem, the WAN light was red and nothing I did fixed. After fiddling with it for hours I gave up and swapped the routers back the way I had it before and the AX55 WAN connects no problem so I am unsure as to why my AX5400 doesnt connect. Weird thing is, is the AX5400 showed network traffic coming in but the light was red and when i check the web GUI it says internet disconnected.

Let me know if you need any clarification as im not great at explaing things.

To start, one day my ethernet connection worked fine and dandy and then out of the blue when I boot up my PC, BOOM no connection. Ive done any and all troubleshooting steps from updating drivers to switching cables to restarting my router etc. and nothing worked. The lights on my ethernet port also dont light up anymore.

As a work around, I bought a USB C to ethernet adapter to see if that would fix the issue but no.. it didnt, whats more is the lights on the adapter dont even light up so this is clearly an issue within windows but idk what cause I havent done anything different, I didnt change any settings. Both adapters just say "Not operational"

Im on Windows 11.
