UPDATE: Direct Sourcing Experiment | Arriving In Just A Few Days! 🚚

Originally I was 100% going to order from one of the trusted sellers here, everyone recommends them, they’re reliable, and it seemed like the safe, easy choice. But then I thought… wait a minute, I can literally do exactly what they do myself! Why pay all those huge markups when I can source directly, arrange every step, and cut out the middleman completely? That’s exactly why I decided to test this and order everything myself through 1688.

I ordered two pairs I wanted: CH Ambidixtrous Crystal and CH Deep II Sun, from the seller Beijing Tante Trading Co., LTD.

• CH Ambidixtrous: ¥180 ($25 / £20)
• CH Deep II Sun: ¥130 ($18 / £14)
• CH branded cases: ¥20 each ($3 / £2)

Ordering and sending straight from the frame seller directly to the lens manufacturer couldn’t be easier! I don’t speak or read Chinese at all, but once you get the hang of how 1688 works it’s totally straightforward. All I did was ask the lens supplier for their shipping address, put that address as the delivery address at checkout, and done. No complicated steps, no extra work, it’s so easy and anyone can do it once you know the simple process.

For lenses I went with Taizhou Hongnian Glasses Co., LTD (also found on 1688), who make both Zeiss and regular prescription lenses:
• Zeiss Diamond Cube Platinum Film (84.4% emissivity coating): ¥470 ($65 / £51)
• Photochromic Prescription Lenses: ¥190 ($26 / £21)

For reference, trusted sellers usually charge $150+ (£120+) just for Zeiss lenses alone, that’s more than double what I paid, before you even add frames! That massive difference is exactly why I wanted to try doing this myself. It’s so easy to do 😊

I’ve actually been speaking directly with the lens manufacturer too. I told them how much demand there is from people outside China. In the UK, EU, USA and everywhere else, and I’ve pushed them to set up an official WhatsApp account and start selling & shipping internationally directly to customers like us. I’m pushing this because it would be a total game changer. Then we’d be able to order premium lenses straight from the factory,. they will be here in just a few more days! 🤞

I’m honestly way more excited for these Zeiss lenses paired with these cheap CH frames than anything else I’ve ordered. On top of this first order, I’ve also picked up 4 MORE FRAMES from 2 other sellers I found on 1688, so I’ve got plenty of different pairs and suppliers to test and compare.

When they all arrive I will be posting my honest review complete with photos, quality checks, fit tests, close ups of the Zeiss laser markings, and every single detail, good or bad.

RepsKing - Meidassa Shell Satin Fit Pics + Review 🔥

I wanted to give my honest opinion on the Meidassa Shell Satin I ordered from RK a few weeks ago.

First thing I noticed was how light and comfortable it is. Material feels really nice in hand and the satin finish looks clean without looking over the top. I’m genuinely impressed with it personally.

I’m 187cm and 100kg+ and went with a size 4 based on the size chart. Fit came out good on me 😉Normally I wear a size 5 in MC Factory Mayas just for comparison.

RK is the kind of seller we need in this community . Someone willing to listen to feedback and actually improve things based on what people say. Also their clothes are really affordable.

RK store is currently closed while precautions are being taken, so please stop spamming asking when he’ll be back 😅 hopefully everything settles soon and he can reopen safely.

Once he’s back open, I’d personally have no problem ordering another few jackets again.

If anyone’s got questions about sizing or fit, drop a comment and I’ll try help out. Let me know what you think about the fit too.

Starting my first-ever fast this evening: Aiming for 14 days (maybe 21?)

I’ve never fasted a day in my life, but I’ve reached a breaking point. Starting a 14-day (potentially 21) water fast. Am I crazy, or is this the reset I need?

I’m tired of feeling sluggish, bloated, and out of control with my relationship with food. I’ve reached a point where "cutting back" isn't working. I feel like my body is literally screaming for a total system reset.

So, I’m going for it. Starting this evening, I’m doing a 14 day water fast. If I can conquer that mental mountain, I want to push it to 21 days.

I know, I know starting with 14 days is an absolute beast for a beginner. I’ve done my homework on the "snake juice" side of things: I have my electrolytes, magnesium, and Himalayan rock salt ready to go. I’m not going into this completely blind, but I am going into it nervous.

I’m posting this for two reasons:

  1. Accountability: If I tell thousands of people I’m doing this, I’m much less likely to cave when the hunger hits

  2. Wisdom: For those who have "been there, done that" what is the one thing you wish someone told you before your first extended fast? How do you handle the social pressure of not eating?

I’m planning to post daily/weekly updates with my stats and how my mental clarity is shifting. If you’ve been thinking about starting, let’s do this together. I have already taken my before pictures with before weight. Now need to just hit the 14 day goal.

Wish me luck. I’m going to need it. Also would anyone want to join me on it 👀 we can create a little group chat or something.

Direct Sourcing Experiment: Sourced Zeiss Platinum Lenses and CH Frames via 1688 for under $100 total.

I’ve been following this sub and doing a lot of research. I’ve been looking at the trusted sellers and thought about ordering some glasses from Jimi which I will do after these arrive.

But I just wanted to experiment, so I found a glasses supplier on 1688 and someone who does prescription.

I ordered these CH Ambidixtrous Crystal & CH Deep II Sun from a seller called “Beijing Tante Trading Co., LTD”.

• CH Ambidixtrous: ¥180 ($25 / £20)

• CH Deep II Sun: ¥130 ($18 / £14)

• CH Cases: ¥20 each ($3 / £2)

I got that seller to send to the lens manufacturer, which was so easy. I just asked for their address and ordered directly to their address using 1688. I am not Chinese and 1688 is easy to operate once you get the hang of it.

I then got them sent to someone else I found on 1688 who does Zeiss lenses and traditional lenses called “Taizhou Hongnian Glasses Co., LTD”.

• Zeiss Diamond Cube Platinum Film (84.4% emissivity coating) : ¥470 ($65 / £51)

• Photochromic Prescription Lenses: ¥190 ($26 / £21)

I know these trusted sellers charge around $150+ (£120+) for Zeiss lenses, so this is why I gave them a go on 1688. Overall my whole experience was very quick and fast. I am not even sure they sell to the EU/UK/USA markets directly, so I’m having them shipped to my friend's address in China and he will send them to me.

The overall time for them to ship the glasses and do the lenses was about 4 days in total. It was super fast. When all these TDs are taking 4 weeks to ship items, I question it and ask how they are operating, are they just doing similar to me?

When they arrive, I’ll post a full review with photos of the quality of the frames and the Zeiss laser marks on lenses.
