The half-track Sd.Kfz 251/16 flammenpanzerwagen was a personnel carrier used by the Wermacht on all fronts, and on a large scale, during WWII. Powered by a six cylinder Maybach gasoline engine, it was capable of reaching 55 km/h, even on difficult terrain. It was mainly used as a combat vehicle for infantry. It was developed as a flame trowhing vehicle for attacks against fortification or for combined actions in support of infantry,It was armed with two flamethrowers positioned on the side of the vehicle, and additionally a it was mounted with a MG 42 or MG 34 for protection against enemy attacks. Inside, tanks for inflammable liquid were installed,which allowed the flamethrowers to operate for 160 seconds.
