I got tired of buffering so built Buffering Control for Android

It's designed to improve DNS resolution, connection stability, and CDN selection based on your specific network connection, location and device type. These optimizations can benefit any streaming application.

That includes:

  • Music streaming (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music, etc.)
  • Video streaming (YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, etc.)
  • Live TV
  • Podcasts
  • Internet radio
  • Some cloud gaming services that rely on stable, low-latency connections

Just search for it on the Google Playstore.

WHAT IT DOES:

There are very few parameters we can control when we stream and the Domain Name System (DNS) is one of them. Buffering Control regularly re-tests DNS resolver performance and automatically switches to whatever is working best — helping reduce buffering, without manual setup or static configuration that goes stale.

WHY "PICKING" A DNS ISN'T ENOUGH:

Most DNS apps let you select a resolver — even multiple. But selecting is a one-time decision that never gets revisited. Buffering Control periodically benchmarks for your specific device, location and network so your setup adjusts to changing conditions instead of relying on a choice you may have made weeks or months ago and forgot about.

STABILITY OVER SPEED:

A media player can make hundreds and even thousands of DNS requests per hour to fetch the necessary data for smooth streaming. A resolver that's fast but drops or spikes mid-stream causes buffering. We optimize for consistency — if a query fails, we fall back to a secondary resolver instantly, rather than just chasing the lowest ping in a one-time test.

BUILT ON MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE:

We only use the latest, encrypted DNS protocols. But the protocol isn't the point — how we use it is. Regular, adaptive re-optimization is what static resolver lists can't do.

Please give it a try.

Buffering Control for TV and Mobile Free Trial

Buffering Control is out of Beta testing and open for everyone to download on the Playstore with a 3 Day Free Trial so you can test it without any commitment. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buffercontrol.tv&hl=en_US

It's designed to improve DNS resolution, connection stability, and CDN selection based on your specific network connection, location and device type. These optimizations can benefit any streaming application.

  • Video streaming (YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, etc.)
  • Live TV
  • Podcasts
  • Internet radio
  • Some cloud gaming services that rely on stable, low-latency connections

The reason is that many streaming services:

  • Resolve hostnames through DNS before connecting.
  • Use multiple CDNs (Content Delivery Networks).
  • Open many HTTP connections while streaming.
  • Need reliable, low-loss network paths to avoid interruptions.

That said, it's important not to overstate the benefits of DNS improvements. Buffering and interruptions can also be caused by factors outside the users control like:

  • An overloaded streaming service.
  • The user's ISP.
  • Weak Wi-Fi.
  • Limited bandwidth.
  • The streaming app itself.

Give it a try and let me know what you think. I built it because I’m a streamer too, and I wanted to see if I could improve streaming stability without having to constantly mess around with settings. It's "One Click, Set and Forget" and works in the background.

Put it through its paces, and let me know how it works for you. I’d genuinely like to hear your experience — good or bad. Hopefully some of the beta testers will also jump in and share what they’ve found.

Manosphere bro Andrew Tate shops at the women's section of ASDA?

These guys are cowardly twats. But for some reason this doesn't surprise me, the same way it wouldn't surprise me if they discovered Mike Johnson was a cross dresser.

Looking for Beta Testers – Buffering Control (Android App)

Hi everyone,

I’ve built an app to reduce buffering, with the help of my son and his college room mate, and after using it privately for several months I’ve decided to publish it on the Playstore. I’ve found channels load, switch and recover faster and buffering has reduced significantly. It obviously can’t overcome every cause of buffering like poor internet or overloaded servers but it definitely helps reduce it. It’s designed primarily for Android Smart TV’s and TV boxes but also works well on Phones and Tablets.

The app works quietly in the background — you just hit connect and it automatically optimizes how your device handles the internet connections behind your streams. No complicated setup, no settings to fiddle with. It gets smarter the more you use it, learning your streaming habits to make things even faster over time.

I need at least 20-30 people to install it and try it out for two weeks. It's completely free during the testing period and you will receive a Promo Code on full launch.

I need testers on a regional basis to accurately assess how the app performs in different regions, so if you're in Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore etc), The Middle East, UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Africa, and South America and you stream extensively on any Android device, I'd love to have you on board. I’m aiming to take only about 2-3 testers per region.

Send a DM with your Device type, Gmail address, city and country and I'll send you the invite link when Google have completed their initial review. Slots are limited.

Thanks!
