Why don't cruiser groups let cars pass?

Was driving on the right lane of a 2 lane highway, 3 cruiser motorcycle group was on the left lane. The tail gunner was in the middle of the highway, on the dotted line.

They were doing 115kmh, I went to the right lane to pass them and let them be in the left, and the Gunner swings over and blocks me from going past 120kmh.

I go back in the left lane since he almost suicides in front of me, and he swings back to the left. I swing back to the right, he follows me again angrily speeding up, so I go to the right shoulder to drive up and get off at my exit..

Dude why tf do you block the right lane? I would have safely passed you and your group, but you made it a very dangerous almost deadly situation with how close he came to my car when he swung over.

We're not allowed passing your group? Dude we're on a public highway, I was not driving erratically before this situation. You don't know my situation, maybe I'm trying to get to the hospital, etc.

People who do this, please explain because I'm genuinely curious and want to understand more so I don't cause any accidents or get killed myself.

Part 2 Please help with butterfly not closing and falling jock

Part 1 is here https://www.reddit.com/r/hockeygoalies/s/cg94TxKKX9

Here is a yt video of me getting dressed and some clips of my open butterfly on ice at the end.

I'm mid 30s, been playing on and off for a few years but got serious in Fall 2025 and I've been playing 2-3 times a week and doing occasional Goalie Clinics as well. I understand my technique isn't pro level, but I'm convinced it's due to my jock falling and being in my way between my thighs when I try to squeeze my legs together in butterfly.

Any thoughts or tips will be great appreciated!

TLDR: open fivehole in butterfly due to falling jock blocking my thighs from closing. Knee pads also fall due to pants' inner thigh block that flaps up and pushes the pads down.

Please help 🙏

Thank you all so much!

Gear & sizes:
Pads: Bauer X5 Pro 34+ (Senior Medium)
Stick: True 26"
Pants: Bauer GSX (Senior Large)
Knee pads: Bauer Pro 2025 Jock: Bauer Pro

Please help with butterfly not closing and falling jock

Hi goalies, I desperately need your help.

A few months ago I upgraded to the pro knee pads, pro jock, and the x5 pro pads. My old knee pads were sliding down. My old jock was from the 90s. I wish I never bought the gsx pants&chesty but here we are. I wear my gsx chesty on the outside with the inner belt tight as possible and suspenders tight, under my chesty.

Throughout the game I'm constantly hiking my jock up no matter how tight I put the velcro or how high I strap it on my lower back. My knee pads also fall, I think it's because of the inner thigh block in the gsx, it folds in and on top of my knee and pushes my knee pads down. Any way I can keep the knee block in place?

My main concern.. when I go into butterfly, I can't close my butterfly like I used to on my Reebok Lefevbres 34+2. I'm currently wearing Bauer X5 pro 34+ Medium (knee is perfectly centered in knee block). My jock seems to get in between my thighs and I can't close my legs and squeeze that butterfly like I used to. I'm 5'10 and my 26" stick isn't helping block my 5hole. I feel like it's always there but pucks keep going right in.. Maybe I need a 24 or 25 to help..

Should I remove the inner pant belt? Should I hike up the jock? I can't really tighten it more, I'm out of velcro space to tighten it..

Something is messing with it and I keep losing my games and letting too many goals in. Down on myself and need your help please 🙏 I play 3-4 times a week in C/D league calibre.

Any and all suggestions welcome, thank you!

PS I have tons of video footage I can share too, if needed.

EDIT: Thanks all, looks like I'll post a video / pictures of me.

I wear compression pants under everything, and intermediate socks over the knee pads to help keep them tight and in place. The knee pads are the sleeve type so I just have 3 velcros + the sock to hold it.

I'll take some video / photos tomorrow morning and update here or make a new post.

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Best Option for Back Protector - Astars Plasma vs KR-3

Hi all,

I have a trackday course coming soon and the org rules state: "Back Protector: CE Level 2 or higher back protectors are mandatory. Foam or soft shell protectors, similar to those included in some suits, are not acceptable. The back protector must cover your spine from tailbone to base of the neck/top of shoulders."

Learning that my 1piece tracksuit insert does not meet this criteria (Revit Hyperspeed3 + Seesoft RV insert). I need to buy a standalone backplate. My question is, is the Plasma considered "soft" ? I see online that it's newer, better fit, thinner, and cooler than the KR-3. But the KR-3 is a rigid shell. I want high protection but something that fits well in the suit.

What do you recommend for a lot of track days and races? I will invest in an airbag vest in the future, but can't afford it now.

Alpinestars Nucleon Plasma Back Protector - $225 CAD
or
Alpinestars Nucleon KR-3 Back Protector - $300 CAD (the side plates are removable)

Thanks in advance!

Tire Tread Wear for First Track Days (2 day course)

Hi all, I'm gearing up for a 2 day track course at the end of May. The track organization rules say "Tires and brakes must be in good condition and have enough “meat” to get through the day."

How would you interpret this? As a beginner, how much is enough "meat" for a day (or 2 in my case)?

I'm running an SV650s Gen2 with Dunlop Q3+ in the front and Q5S in the rear.

Q3+ front is at 3/32nds or 2mm of tread remaining (apparently brand new tread is around 3/4mm. So I'm at around 50% in the front.

Q5s rear is at 6/32 or 4mm remaining (brand new is 7/32 or 5.5mm) so I'm sure I'm good to go there.

Should I change my front tire now to be sure, instead of paying a potential premium at the track to pass inspection? I plan to ride at least a handful of times between now and then as well.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Actually I just checked and my tire was manufactured on 5118 - so they are not 7yr4months old... time to change anyway I think.. Right?
