Looking for singer-songwriters/producers to collaborate with - any genre

Hey! I'm a 17-year-old film composer and producer looking to collaborate with emerging singers, songwriters, musicians and producers.

My background is mainly orchestral/cinematic music, but I want to expand into songwriting and contemporary genres like pop, R&B, hip-hop, rock, indie, electronic, etc.

I'm looking for genuine mutual, non-paid collaborations where we both contribute creatively and share the finished work/credits.

I work in Logic and can contribute composition, production, arrangement and orchestration.

If you're interested, DM me with a little about yourself and some of your music. Would love to create something together!

How do composers like John Williams keep orchestral sections constantly changing roles so smoothly?

I’m trying to understand a specific orchestration skill I hear all the time in John Williams and other top film composers.

What I mean is this: in one passage, the trumpets might have the main melody, violas/cellos might be doing an ostinato, violins might just be sustaining harmony or countermelody — and then a few seconds later the roles shift completely. The melody moves somewhere else, the accompaniment changes section, inner voices become more active, etc. But it all still feels natural, clear, and intentional rather than random.

So my question is: what actually makes those constant role changes between sections work?

I’m not asking generally “how to orchestrate like John Williams,” but more specifically how to write that professional section-to-section interplay, its almost a call-and-response play, where different orchestral groups keep taking over different functions, without the cue losing clarity.

If anyone has score examples, techniques to study, some tips or tricks, or specific cues/composers to analyse for this, I’d really appreciate it.

Psychological Film Score - Looking for Feedback

I recently completed this cue for a short film and would appreciate some feedback.

The intention was to create a dark, atmospheric soundscape that gradually builds tension while remaining restrained and supportive of the scene.

Any thoughts on the music, storytelling, orchestration, or overall impact would be greatly appreciated

Indie Short Film Score Seeking Orchestral Mixing and Mastering Collaborator (Portfolio Building)

Hey everyone,

I’m a young composer currently scoring an indie horror short film and looking for someone genuinely interested in orchestral / cinematic / hybrid score mixing & mastering.

This project leans more toward film-score style orchestration and atmospheric sound rather than standard electronic production, so I’m specifically hoping to connect with someone who enjoys or has experience with cinematic/orchestral work.

I’m mainly looking for a collaborative, portfolio-building opportunity (IMDb credit / future referrals / long-term creative connection), especially since this is an indie project.

What I’d love: Orchestral / hybrid / cinematic mixing interest Good sense of depth, space, and emotional balance Open communication Passion for film music

If you’re building your portfolio, love film scores, or want to collaborate, feel free to DM me with any relevant examples or just introduce yourself.

Thanks!
