I must be out of the loop on something for MW4 [COD]

I came back to the sub to get some more info/discussion about MW4, and now I’m confused lol

I dropped COD after MW2 because I didn’t like the movement, but I’ve come back for MW4.

I’m out here hoping MW4 is like a new MW19, but everyone on Reddit hates MW19 now? Huh?

I thought MW19 was goated, what gives?

And nobody is hype for MW4? On the COD sub? I know BO7 was a stinker, but I thought IW titles have all been at least decent so there’s reason for a bit of hype no?

Best emulator for MC: LA in 2026?

Idk shit about emulating games

I see people with all kinds of recommendations for emulating, but is there a consensus on what is the best setup for MC: LA? Any good tutorials out there you guys would recommend?

I have an Nvidia 5080 & Ryzen 7 9800X3D

My only emulator experience is getting PCSX2 to run MC: 3, and that was a process in an of itself

The irony of having a beefy PC just to run games from 20 years ago is not lost on me 😂, it’s not my fault old games are goated and most new ones don’t scratch that itch for me personally

I came back to Midnight Club 3 after trying Forza Horizon 6

I can’t be the only one who finds Forza Horizon boring. It’s a racing game where one of the weakest elements is the actual races.

They have this really cool performance customization system, but there’s hardly a racing-benefit to use it because the AI just matches whatever you bring, and you can’t upgrade your car past a certain class if you want to progress the story in FH6.

FH’s storyline has all the excitement of a mandatory HR training seminar, and it’s all unskippable. The city also feels sterile with no pedestrians or realistic traffic. And almost all of the roads are designed like a racetrack instead of actual infrastructure.

The only silver lining is that the cars drive in a “sim-cade” style that I enjoy, but that’s literally it!

And I’ve tried NFS— I hate all the modern ones because of the handling model. And they all feel slow asf.

All of this made me spend hours figuring out how to emulate MC 3, because I was thinking “surely it can’t just be nostalgia”

It wasn’t just nostalgia-goggles, Midnight Club is the goat arcade racing franchise, bar none. The sense of speed in MC 3 is insane, the cars are fun to drive, there’s an amazing “vibe” with the soundtrack and story characters (you can skip it, but it’s good enough to the point that you don’t actually want to), and the customization is unmatched.

Truly, they haven’t managed to improve arcade racing since Midnight Club went MIA back in 2008!

I swear to god, if I ever win the lottery, the first thing I will do is buy a large share in Take-Two interactive and force them to make Midnight Club 5 lol

All these complaints and excuses I see posted on here every day come from a soft mentality IMO

It just is what it is, just try to win despite it

Most dudes on the other team are gonna have 0 IQ too, take advantage

You can’t always come out with a W of course

But as an individual, you can still consistently play well regardless of what bs your teammates are on

Limit mistakes on both ends, take what the defense gives you, fill the role your team needs, and you’ll come out on top most of the time
