Trying to understand lane conditions and ball motion

So I’ve been doing a bit of YouTube/reddit research about how lane conditions affect ball motion and I’m trying to apply that when I go bowling. I find that I often struggle (when I’m actually bowling well and hitting my target lol) getting the ball to get enough entry angle into the pins at the end of the lane (my only ball is a venom recoil).

So as I understand it:

1.) if I see my ball start rolling out at the end of the lane and deflecting more with less entry angle the ball is burning up its energy by hooking too early. This could be due to bowling on a dry area of the lane and I should move left into fresh oil and slow my ball speed a little bit?

2.) if my ball isn’t rolling out but is still missing right by not hooking at the end of the lane this could be due to carry down from urethane/plastic balls pushing the oil down there. I can try a weaker ball with a hybrid or pearl coverstock or I can try playing down the right side of the lane?

Usually I’m bowling at night after leagues and open bowlers (the games are super cheap) so I think when my ball isn’t hooking at the end of the lane it might be due to carry down. I find that I need to play on the far right side of the lane and even then I still struggle. I’ve tried moving left and slowing my ball speed down (~14mph, my rev rate is roughly 350) it still struggles to come back to the pocket and misses right of the first pin. The only time when I feel I can hit the pocket consistently in these conditions is with my friend’s tropical surge.

Is there something I’m doing wrong here? Do I need to try slowing down more and trying left again? Is this something related to my ball or its layout? I am still new to this and I have a lot to work on with my form so maybe I should just worry about hitting my marks and getting my timing and release right.

Rattles from passenger rear?

I have a 2010 c30 rdesign 6spd (60,000miles). I’ve been having this rattle that I can’t figure out the cause of.

I don’t notice any issues driving the car and I’m pretty thorough with car maintenance. I’m not too worried about this noise but it’s pretty annoying. Is this rattle common on all c30s or is there something that I’m missing here?

Description:
- It sounds like a solid metal rattle, not like a heat shield or exhaust component.

- only heard when my passenger window is open Leading me to believe it has to be something external.

- only heard going over medium bumps/holes.

- it doesn’t change in pitch or intensity regardless of the size of the bump I hit.

- it is most noticeable on consistently rough roads

Fixes so far:
- first I thought it was the rear sway bar links/bushings since mine were dry rotted pretty bad but after replacing it still rattles (I torqued the new ones to ~18ftlbs)

- replaced rotors and pads (they were worn). Made sure everything was tight/torqued and greased with the proper high temp brake grease.

- gave EVERY suspension component a check for any play or loose bolts

Thanks in advance!

How do you analyze yourself and how do you practice?

I've been bowling a few months and right now I've mainly been interested in improving my timing and balance while just maintaining a consistent release. Coaching will always be optimal when it comes to analysis but for now how do you know if what you're doing is wrong or right? do you look for indicators like coming over the top of the ball or missing a certain direction? I tried videoing myself, but I have no idea what to look for. I find myself getting lost in the details and spinning my wheels trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong when I'm way off my marks.

Also, once you have an idea what to work on, how do you practice? I've been looking online for one hand no thumb drills or practice but I can't really find much info about it besides the cleanup crew on YouTube (I know that this may have disadvantages compared to 2 hand or 3 finger but I'm having fun with this style and I'll change it up later if I need to). I feel like every time I go to the lane I'm just doing whatever and not really working on something specific. It'd be awesome if there was a decision tree or something to help diagnose and make adjustments.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Keep missing targets left

Started bowling a couple months ago and I noticed that after my first game I start missing a few boards left of my target.

To try and figure this out I’ve read some articles and watched some videos and I think it must have something to do with my timing but without an experienced bowler/coach I can’t be sure and I won’t know how exactly to fix the issue.

I don’t really have the money for coaching right now so I figured I’d ask if anyone has any pointers here.

For reference I’m starting with my right toe on the 22 and aiming at the 15 arrow. The first video the ball went right over the 15. The second one it was 5-10 boards left of the 15.

Any unrelated advice is always appreciated

Thanks!

C30 2.5t intake/turbo noises?

TLDR: how can I get more turbo noise without messing up factory tune/systems with aftermarket intake options?

I have a c30 with a polestar tune and I’d love to have some louder turbo hisses and wooshes like on my relative’s mk3 focus st with an open air box. I’ve found that with the c30 it’s not as simple as changing the lid on the box and dropping in a new filter.

Option 1.) A “cold air intake” (like injen or elevate) doesn’t seem like a good idea because of heat soak and changing air velocity/volume going into the MAF sensor. Plus I don’t want to mess with the polestar tune.

Option 2.) I’ve seen the do88 air box looks like a decent option and it should avoid the heat soak issues and probably won’t need a retune but I wonder if it will give the lovely woosh noises like the open cone filters do.

Option 3.) There’s that cci Intske that seems like an actual “cold air intake” since it bolts up to the snorkel and it sounds really good but I wonder if it’ll require retuning as well.

Also, any of these options require relocating the ecu where it won’t get any air flow. I could fabricate a duct but it’s just extra time and money.

I also would like to avoid changing the stock bypass valve to a blow off valve because I also heard that’s not a good idea to mess with the factory recirc system

I understand that any modifications will have its draw backs since you’re messing with years of research and development from Volvo/ford/mazda but I want to ask you guys if there’s any other less invasive options to getting more intake/ “blow off” noise?

How is the drone with the elevate sport exhaust (not the gt)?

I make a lot of long highway trips so how does the elevate sport exhaust sound when the rpms are around 2 to 2.5k? Also how does it compare to the stock system? is it a lot louder or sort of an oem+ kind of sound?

Where to look for beginner bowling instruction/information?

My friend is into bowling and I've been really enjoying bowling too. I was gifted a venom recoil and i bought a cheap pair of shoes. Also, I find it most comfortable to bowl two handed (I often get pain in my right wrist/forearm when lifting/bowling idk why). When I go bowling I feel very inconsistent because I don’t really have any idea what I’m doing lol.

I don’t really have money for lessons so where should I look for learning resources so that I learn this the right way and avoid building bad habits? Also any other tips are appreciated.

Turbo intake pipe with stock air box?

Has anyone noticed a difference in sound by replacing the stock turbo intake pipe with one from snabb or elevate? I want a little more intake noise, but I want to keep the stock airbox.
