Come on Orient....make this model ✏️

They've made the purple, but they always leave out the pink. They never do any pinks which I find incredibly sad considering it's a Japanese company. Seiko have done plenty. It's your turn Orient. Get to work!

Is this too big or does 42mm look ok?

42 is the largest I'd ever go on a watch as I have small wrists but does this look ok?

Strange.... [SPB503J1]

Through my many years of watch collecting, I never liked Seiko. I thought they looked cheap and I didn't like the logo.

Fast forward 10 years - they're now one of my favourite brands and have produced the watch I wear the most. (Alpinist teal pine).

I have "higher end luxury" watches and I still don't bother with them anymore. This one Seiko has killed my desire for other watches and stopped my compulsive spending. But it's strange, I know my higher end watches have better specs blah blah blah...but I never fell in love with them like I did with my alpinist. The watch feels like it's part of me and fits the last piece of the puzzle right. It BELONGS.

I have a grand seiko elegance cream dial model which I do love and only wear that for important events but even still, my mind is racing to put my alpinist back on otherwise I don't feel right or satisfied.

Important to note it's only the new updated models that swayed me. I'm so excited to see what new alpinist models are released in the future. I have already put more than enough money aside to buy at least 2 of them when released if so.

But my countless hours of searching for watches on my phone, my interest in other brands...gone. And now I feel "well what now?".

What were once a brand I disliked the most turned out to produce the watch I love the most. It's backwards isn't it?

Perfect strap change...

Sooooo I'm waiting for my Milanese mesh steel strap for my mako 40. I own the orient star m34 f7 moonphase and it came with a dark brown leather strap too. I thought it would look much better on the mako 40 and it does! Even better than it's technically all parts from the same brand still. I'm excited for my mesh steel strap as I think an all steel look watch will suit the mako 40 best especially because of the steel bezel. But at least it has a suitable leather strap for it now too.

For anyone thinking of buying the new mako40 limited edition models. Just do it. Don't look back. Just. Do. It. They piss all over the previous mako models.

My mako 40 limited edition build.

The default strap was ass so I've changed it to a premium higher quality steel Milanese mesh bracelet from AliExpress. So many brands with beautiful cases and dials ruin it with crappy bracelets so sometimes you just have to do it yourself. This simple change has already made it my favourite GADA watch. Immensely beautiful so had to share. Would look amazing for the other colours too.

My alpinist 💙 I changed the...

I changed the strap to a luxury croc leather delugs greyish beige strap with quick release clasp. It looks olive green in the picture because of the nearby yellow light but it's immensely beautiful regardless.

No B.S....show me your ONE favourite watch and tell me why.

Go on then community, show me your one all time favourite watch. Not one you've "liked and wanted" for a while, not some new hype watch where marketing has manipulated your brain into liking, but your real hand on heart favourite watch. I couldn't care less of it were a Casio or a Patek. Don't worry, this is a safe space.

Except for you Hublot. Not you.

Let's talk about something different....BAD EXPERIENCES

Instead of showing off our collections and the positives of our experiences in watch collecting, let's talk about what BAD experiences you've had and with whom.

I won't state the brand to avoid making it look like this is just an attack. But a well known rising Italian brand has been my only bad experience. Pushy sales tactics, bad quality pieces and incorrect order (by size) sent. So I totally avoid that brand altogether now.

Other than that I've never had any bad experiences other than watches I've bought from eBay but even still, that were just shipping issues not the watches themselves.

What's yours?
