TV vs Monitor for Yarg

I'm torn between whether I should continue using a TV for Yarg or go with a gaming monitor.

So far, I've been playing on a 58" Hisense 4K TV from 2020. I have a Scarlett interface and Yamaha DTX edrums.. I usually set the Audio Calibration to 50ms, and it's fine..

I just picked up a gaming monitor (Asus Tuf VG3B 0.5ms) and I'm not sure if it's worth keeping it..

How is the experience different? Is there really a difference between a "properly calibrated" TV setup, and a gaming monitor?

Having Trouble with old RCA TV & Firestick

I have an old budget 1080p RCA TV from 2015 (missing remote) . Connected my Firestick to it and I can't get the TV Controls (power, volume) working with the Firestick remote.

I tried going through the "RCA TV" setup countless times, and none of the codes work. I tried manually selecting each code set to no avail. There's nothing in the TV settings about HDMI CEC.. So I guess this TV doesn't support CEC?

The TV also has no HDMI ARC or Optical Audio Port, so my budget Samsung soundbar can only connect via Bluetooth, and it requires me to manually connect the soundbar to the Firestick every time I turn the TV on.

What is the best solution? Program an IR remote?

Why doesn't the Firestick connect to the "already paired" soundbar automatically?

Thanks in advance.

RS ASIO Scarlett Solo Microphone for acoustic guitar

I had everything working and now it's not..

I'm using RS ASIO and a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen (latest drivers). Last week I was playing electric guitar & bass and singing using Rocksmith 2014 "Realtone cable mode" with "use microphone for singing" enabled.. I could switch it to "microphone mode" and play acoustic guitar.. Now when I switch to "microphone mode" it registers the pitch of the acoustic guitar, but I can't hear the acoustic in my headphones..

The RSASIO config has:

Asio.input.0 "commented out"

Asio.input.1 = Channel 1

Asio.input.Mic = Channel 0

Microphone vocal delay even with audio interface

I updated the drivers for my Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen, and tinkered with settings and now there's a noticeable delay when monitoring vocals in YARG. It's almost delayed by a whole second..

I didn't have this issue before. Not sure if I messed up a setting, or the driver or device ID or something isn't right.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Input bindings got messed up with Nightly update.

I've been playing YARG for the past few months, mostly with my Yamaha DTX drums. I put a lot of work into dialing in my settings for midi notes, threshold, debounce etc..

Yesterday, I updated my Nightly build via YARC.. Then booted up my drums.. When I started playing I noticed the settings were reset to a way older state from months ago.. All the values I set were gone, I couldn't remember what they were, and I can't get the overhits dialed in like before...

Then, I stupidly put my trust in Win11 System Restore.. Loaded a restore point from a week earlier.. To make a backup of the previous settings.. When finished System Restore, removed all my other restore points and didn't give me the option to Undo System Restore..

Now I have my settings back, but lost a week's progress in scores.. And have to update drivers and get my system back to where it was..

Reminder: BACKUP EVERYTHING!!!

I'm in the market for a new handheld. Ultimately, I want a Steamdeck OLED or the Steamdeck 2 when it launches.. But I'm considering getting an android handheld to "hold me over".

Personally, I prefer the symmetrical "Playstation Style" layout, which the Steamdeck has. I like the layout and ergonomics of the Steamdeck (ex. How the joysticks are positioned "inward instead of downward". It seems most Android handhelds are using the "Xbox Style" layout, and have the joysticks directly below the buttons, which I find ergonomically awkward.

Whats the best "bang for your buck" Android handheld, that has a button layout similar to Playstation or Steamdeck?

Thanks.

Most of my games from the Epic Games Storefront are missing metadata (ex. Clear Logos etc).

When I select multiple games and use the "metadata download wizard" it only downloads a couple pieces of metadata (banner and screenshot).

However, if I select a single/individual game and go Edit - Media - Download Media.. Then it works fine, and gathers all the missing metadata.

Whats up with this?
