As from Wednesday I will be living alone for the first time in my life... Is there any tips or things you wish you knew before living alone?

I am looking forward to it. But I am a bit nervous.

My 96 year old Grandad died due to the Heatwave in perhaps the most British way possible...

He was in his bed and woke up and asked for a cup of tea, the carer brought him his tea and he drank it all. Then with a sudden spring of energy he got out of bed. (Previously he had been bed bound for a few weeks, so this was a shock to the carer)

"Right. I want to show you exactly what I wish to be buried in."

As he walked over to the wardrobe, the carer concerned tried to get him to bed but he was determined, he picked out the suit and clothes he wanted and placed it down on the bed and explained to her how it should be.

He then walked back to the bed but before getting in it he collapsed on the floor, the carer rushed over to him and he said to her "Right. If its all good with you, I'm going to go now" and she looked at him and said "Yes, its fine you can go" and then he died as she held him.

Obviously I am devastated that my last Grandparent has died. He was a very British Gentleman type, was a Captain in the Army during the Suez Canal crisis. He always dressed perfectly and people would often comment how smart he looked throughout his life.

He was unwell for a while, he had low blood oxygen for a few weeks, but the heatwave made this much worse for him and sadly he passed away peacefully. I was in shock when the carer explained to me how he had died, but it didn't really surprise me its the perfect way for him to go, she was a very new carer for him, had only been there for three days and apparently its the first death she had witnessed so she was in shock. I'm glad he was able to die on his terms, he was very afraid he'd end up dying in hospital.

First time back on Vatsim in a year and I feel so sorry for the London controllers...

I used to fly daily on Vatsim but I stopped around a year ago and mainly fly offline using BeyondATC because I got so frustrated with the quality of pilots and interactions on Vatsim, first thing I would say is that 90% of people are very professional and good.

Samuel was covering London ACC (Worthing) tonight, I briefly flew through the airspace, I have no idea how he kept is cool, he had multiple kids who were screaming down the microphone asking for clearance over and over again, he had people who were not responding to his instructions, he had multiple people saying they didn't understand how to use their autopilot and someone making funny noises down the mic, it really lowers the immersion and quality feel of Vatsim, I realise there is some areas where this happens less and generally speaking Vatsim is a great service, but I just wish something could be done about these people who are just connecting to Vatsim and ruining the experience for everyone else.

Massive kudos to that man as it sounded so stressful to listen to it all and borderline comical.

What’s one small difference which if happened in the UK would make a huge difference to your life?

What is one small thing which would have to occur in the UK which if it occurred would make a huge difference in your life.

This can be a positive or a negative thing, I’m not on about specific to you, but something which would effect loads of people.

For example if the mortgage rates go up or down or if perhaps if the cost of eggs went down or if the fredo became 5p again

Or perhaps if a TV series returned or stopped running or if there was changes to EV schemes or transportation in the UK

The FSReborn Phenom 300E launches tomorrow for $39.99 on the MSFS 2024 Marketplace

Murphy is streaming the aircraft right now on Twitch. https://www.twitch.tv/twotonemurphy

  • Price: $39.99
  • Release: 18th May 2025 (Time dependent on Asobo publishing it)

The level of detail this aircraft goes into is crazy, the stream is well worth a watch because I cannot give it justice. The aircraft fully simulates the engines, complete failure modelling (even the toilet can fail) he has even modelled random bird strikes based on Simbrief Notam data.

You can place a 3D FBO base anywhere in the world and walk around it. You can refuel the aircraft yourself by hand. The plane uses the Working Title G3000 but Raul has coded over 10,000 lines of code for plugins for the G3000 to add full functionality for the Phenom.

All the engines and electricals are simulated and can all fail at any stage, I'm only touching the iceberg of this, but it by far the most detailed business jet we've had in the sim to date.

Full custom sounds recorded from the real plane etc.

The FSReborn Phenom 300E is almost here

We don't have a release date just yet, but the hype train has begun in the FSReborn Discord. Raul has been working super hard on this for the past few years. The amount of detail in the Phenom 300E is incredible.

It will also come with a placeable FBO you can put in any airport, walk through and even customise the logo on it. You can place multiple FBOs around the world in 2024.

I don't want to use the word "study level" but its going to be pretty close, he has simulated each individual circuit and even though its using the Working Title G3000 he has coded custom G3000 plugins to make it as realistic as possible.

I'm not even scratching the surface on the detail he has gone into, I know for instance you can refuel the plane by hand in walk around mode.

We should hear more about it very soon, but it possibly maybe the best private jet in 2024 to date.
