I am 20 years old now I’ve been working for transport for London for 2 years starting as a customer service assistant. I got an apprenticeship in 2024 as a service controller I’m finishing my 2nd year aswell as the course beginning as a trainee service controller in September with a 60K salary.
You may ask how is this relevant to your A Levels well. I got U in physics and D in PE and a A in geography which is horrible for my standard. I wanted to go to university of Manchester to study Mechanical Engineering I wasnt accepted I did get accepted into Uni of Herts to study geography which was my back up but I really didn’t want to go there. I decided to try and work for a year and assess my options which I ended up staying in my role which allowed me to progress further than what university could allow because I would have been going into my 3rd year now.
The moral of the story is that just because you failed doesn’t make you a failure don’t settle for less than what you deserve and what will be best for you ur results doesn’t determine who you become be open to all
options whether that’s retaking your a levels or taking a gap year do what is best for you
Hope those going into Year 12 and 13 find this useful and those you got their results last week find this helpful all the best
