So many buttons
I'm new to HOSAS/HOTAS and not being the youngest gamer by any definition I'm wondering if anyone has tips for remembering which button does what after you've bound them. I imagine repetition is part of it and I might be stuck with the equivalent of a pilot clipboard to take me out of my immersion to remember which button lowers the gear but I thought I'd give it a shot and ask.
If you put a game down for a while do you usually rebind pretty much from scratch if you pick it back up?
I understand there won't usually be a lot of variance in set-up from one game to the next but I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks they use to keep track.
And a somewhat tangential related question.. does anyone use programs like VoiceAttack to supplement? I thought perhaps that might be a partial solution.
For reference if it's relevant I have the WinWing Ursa Minor HOSAS.
