HomeDepot scammed me out of 200$ lol.

At the beginning of summer, I bought 2 ConvectAir 5100 without thermostat to replace my old wall heaters. I wanted to get Smart Thermostats before the end of autumn.

My electrician was able to fit me in finally today and while installing them, realizes that one of them is actually a ConvectAir 5101 -with- thermostat, in a 5100 box.

I explained myself to the counter, they refused to exchange it, treated me like a scammer and a liar, even after having brought the receipt, the brand new 5101 and both 5100 boxes that matched the receipt.

So, if you deal with them, make sure you compare Model IDs on whatever product you bought as soon as you get home. Kind of a mixed signal, telling me they would never make such a mistake, but it's my fault for not checking in time.

I just left the box with the 5101 there and I left, they can sell it and buy themselves a good meal with it for all I care.

I just wanted to save the FREAKING PLANET, home depot

Videogame industry workers in Montreal, how safe are 3D jobs in your opinion? Is my plan realistic?

Hi there! Senior animator here with 10+ years in the mobile gaming industry, studied in traditional animation, have some very rudimentary 3D knowledge. (Portfolio)

I was laid off from my Mobile Game 2D Animation gig 2 weeks ago. There are some openings I am applying to, but I see vastly more 3D openings and it seems like my options would be far more numerous with that skill in my bag.

I can probably get another job with my current expertise, but I'm thinking of devoting the next 2-3 years to learn the followings in my spare time....

-Maya production pipeline from A to Z, modeling, Rigging, lighting.. etc.

I'd put much more time on animation obviously but I think at least understanding and having the basic technical knowledge of the entire pipeline is valuable.

-Unreal engine, focusing on what I need to know relating to animation

I'd update my showreel with the following

At least 1 or 2 3D character modeled, rigged and animated

-some VFX work with Unreal

-In-Engine character movement + attack or something

My main question is, is doing what I'm about to do worth it? Is AI going to eradicate most jobs by the time I'm done, is my plan realistic, would that be enough to be considered for a position? I'd be curious to have opinions, Thank you!

Animators with a family, how is it going?

I have a house in montreal and 2 children under 2. I've been recently laid off from my very lucrative Mobile Gaming Motion Designer gig and so am looking around for work.

I've been saving my money for more than a decade with the hope of being able to earn a lower pay and work in the TV / Feature industry by the time I turn 40, but with my budget, 2 daycare, a mortgage, the numbers don't lie, I doubt I'd be able to find an animation job in the animation industry that would allow me to not have to do some serious penny pinching.

How are things going for you? How are you making it if you have very costly social obligations?

Professional animators that transitioned from 2D to 3D animation, how hard was it?

Just got laid off. Not fun, but I've been there before.

I've been working as a Motion Designer for mobile Games and slots for 11 years. My passion has always been 2D, but I know that 3D has more offers available.

I'm not *seriously* considering to start studying 3D right now full time, I have a home, a family, it's not really realistic, I need to find something on a shorter time frame, but I'm curious.

Assuming you're already a pretty skilled animator in 2D and already have some pretty basic knowledge of 3D, how long would it really take for me to be able to get at least a job in 3D?

How did coco get so well known so quickly?

It seems that EP1 she petrifies her mother and by the time Qiffrey brings her to his atelier she is already famous around the witch world for what she has done.

How did that happen?
