Just been told that there’s a post on Face Ache about the park gates being shut due to an on-going incident.

I hadn’t realised how much the heat affects the BG level. I’ve been keeping myself hydrated and been watching my level drop. How does everyone else cope with the heat?

I managed to catch my CGM on a door in the house and it won’t connect to the app. I’ve tried contacting my GP for advice but it’s closed for mandatory training. Would you just change the sensor or wait until you can speak to someone? I’m M64 in the UK

I was recently (March 2026) put on a long lasting insulin (14 units). Whilst in hospital in the same period I was eating three times a day. I have been home a couple of months and have been skipping a meal between breakfast and dinner in the evening. Prior to going into hospital I very rarely ate during the day and am finding it hard to eat or snack during the day. Are there any tricks to help overcome this situation?

I am now on a 2nd sensor after the 1st one failed (waiting for a replacement). I have noticed that it hasn’t been saving the measurements it has taken. I applied the sensor yesterday evening it took a reading around 21:30 UK time. How do I see all the readings taken apart from in the logbook or is this a common issue?

This morning I applied my first sensor. I gave it the hour needed to initialise etc. Some 6 hours later after having a number of “Glucose Readings Paused” errors I got a “Replace Sensor” error. How likely is it I will get a similar error when I replace this one. In the mean time it’s back to finger pricks

I have often watched YouTube videos not necessarily about amateur radio and have rarely seen antennas in gardens or on roofs, unless it been content from a radio channel. How do amateurs get around all the regulations laid down by an HOA?

I have a conversation with one of the diabetic nurses at the GP practice about my concerns about hypos. They have given me the above CGM. What are your experiences with this CGM? I haven’t started using it as I’ll probably have to pick it up tomorrow.

I class myself as 3c due to having suffered 9 attacks of pancreatitis, now with a withered and fatty pancreas. I am undergoing gene testing along with a C-peptide test.

I had to speak to my regular delivery driver the other day about throwing parcels over an 8ft wall. I told them that on almost every day there is someone at home and they don’t have permission to throw any parcel over the wall. I was quite surprised when they told me it was a delivery option on their tracking system. They don’t even know what’s in the parcel, how can they carry this practice on.

I personally think changing the name to EVRI was a mistake as it just a continuation of Hermes. “EVRI parcel lost or damaged”

Apologies for the maybe stupid question but do operators using on FT8, regardless of the frequency, contact more than one operator at a time?

I am in the process of preparing my shack and installing earth cables for the radios and tuner I have. I am waiting for bus bars to arrive and was thinking I should attach cables to the radio and tuner for when the bars arrive. Is this as bad as not having an earth cable or good prep?

I am planning to install a common mode choke after a 3 position switch. 1 of the antennas is a 4m vertical, the other 2 are an EFHW and a HF vertical. Will the placement of the common mode choke after the switch cause any issues?

I am trying to read an article on the RSGB website about RFI caused by solar panels and associated inverters. However, I have noticed that I get so far and lose my concentration. I then have to go back and start reading again as I can’t remember where I got to. On reading back from the beginning it’s like I’ve never read the article before. Anyone else have any similar issues or am I just getting old? I’m 64M in the UK.

Yesterday, I took my long lasting insulin (14 units) at my regular time, I also took my evening dose of Metformin (1000mg). About 15-20 mins later took a BG reading as I was about to eat, this was 8.6mmol/L. 2 hours after I finished eating the reading was 8.5mmol/L. Whilst not a big drop I was wondering if this was a common occurrence, especially in the evening?
