Thoughts on whether we can keep hold of Bruno?

The chat about Bruno has totally changed here in Brazil over recent weeks. His performances in the WC are attracting a lot of attention and a lot of praise. Believe it or not, despite having many caps for Brazil already, he was still largely unknown by the general Brazilian population prior to the WC starting. I know that Brazil's love of a player has little to do with the pricing of a player in the British transfer market, but I do think it is quite telling that people are starting to take notice. The deeper Brazil go in this competition, the more likely I think it will be that we will lose Bruno.

What do you guys think? Do you think we will be able to keep him, especially now that Tonali has gone?

Finding Roll-In Showers in Japan

It's an issue many face: finding a hotel in Japan with a roll-in shower.

We've compiled a list based on the hotels we have featured on our website.

Do you know of any others we should check out and add?

Launching additional TWIA content.

After years of keeping a low profile, I'm launching something more personal: a fortnightly bulletin where I'll share honest opinions and tackle topics I wouldn't normally broach in the TWIA newsletter or Facebook group. Including some divisive ones.

Priced at $5/month so I can a) keep it fairly private and b) help support my family & TWIA's growth.

The free newsletter continues as normal. Come along if you're curious 👇

Brazilian TV

I’m watching the England game in Brazil and the commentators just referred to Jordan Pickford as T-Rex Arms 😂 I don’t have Twitter but just wanted to share it somewhere…

The Missing Piece in Accessible Travel and How to Find it

I recently wrote an article for the Wheel the World blog where I talk about why I think community is the missing ingredient in accessible travel, and ultimately, the key to making the world a more inclusive place.

It’s something I feel pretty strongly about. Have a read and let me know what you think.

Give us agency over our own lives.

I said what I said.

Disabled folks living in Juneau

Hey there! Do you know someone living in Juneau who has a disability?

My friend Shane from the accessible travel series Wheel Around the World is in Juneau later today and would love to connect with at least one person and have a chat over coffee, or even do an activity together.

If you know someone, please give me a shout!

(Shane is covering expenses)

Recommendations for fun and exciting activities in Los Angeles and the surrounding area?

Can you help?

A client of mine who uses a wheelchair is traveling through LA this weekend and will spend a couple of days there. He is looking for fun and exciting activities that go a bit beyond the usual touristy stuff (besides, he's been before and doesn't need to see the Hollywood sign of visit the Getty).

We're thinking more along the lines of... horse riding, sailing, skydiving, etc, etc. Pushing the boat out.

Bonus points if you know someone with a disability who would be willing to do these things with my client and be filmed for a YouTube channel (not essential though, and advice still very welcome).

We named ourselves 'The World is Accessible' not because we naively believe the world is without barriers that impact the lives of disabled people, but because it is a mantra we aspire to and strive for.

Through collectivism and community, we can shine a light on places around the globe that are more welcoming and inclusive to those living with a disability; where people take care to ensure that nobody is left out.

And when we say The WORLD is Accessible, we seek to emphasize the word 'world'. We know that large portions of our audience and community will naturally come from places like the US, the UK, and Australia, but these countries represent only a fraction of the world's nations and population.

We speak for everyone, regardless of race, religion, or identity, and we want to share stories from a diverse group of people.

Don't be afraid to interact, add your voice, or even submit a guest post. Let's spread the message that accessibility and disability rights matter, whether in travel or simply getting around your local neighborhood.

I'm feeling very proud of the progress Fernanda and I have been making with theworldisaccessible.com. Our SEO strategy is starting to pay off, with our 30-day clicks from Google surpassing 500 yesterday.

Web traffic directly from our newsletter, Facebook group, and other social media channels is also exponentially growing, with personal records of 9,970 views over 30 days and 5,000 sessions.

Speaking of our newsletter, we're fast approaching 12,000 active subscribers, and our open rate remains consistently 47-51%.

I am grateful to have Fernanda with me, working behind the scenes, helping to improve the volume and quality of our digital output. She, alone, has increased the number of accessible properties we advertise on our website by more than 2x in just a couple of weeks.

Fernanda is also focusing on creating 'Mini Guides' as a vehicle for organic promotion of accessible properties in a given region. We want to do more than share a property on our site. We want to showcase some of the accessible things folks can enjoy while staying there.

If you have an accessible property or feel like writing a piece of content for our website, either as a sponsored post or otherwise, feel free to get in touch.

Thanks,

Anthony
