Pixie infiltration

Behold my wonderful African Bullfrog, Behemmy!!

(comes from Behemoth)

We've been together for three weeks! Too early to tell if they're a boy or girl. Very inquisitive personality. Will duck away from sounds or if I move too quickly, but will come back out to check the scene seconds later. We often just kind of sit and stare at one another..... I love it.

Also funny to see them eat. It literally prowls towards feeders before attacking. I don't think I've ever seen a frog prowl. 😂

Sunflower Massacre

Hi there! New gardener here. My growing sunflowers were broken and torn by a squirrel (I think). They are mammoth sunflowers and we're about 2.5 to 3 ft when broken. I couldn't bandage them because I was on my way out to work and couldn't tell them I was late because I tried to save my garden. Are they a lost cause?? Will they ever grow back?? If not how can I prevent this in the future?

When I initially planted them, their comrades were ripped from the ground as seedlings. I jerry-rigged some chicken wire cages and after that got full on garden panels to protect them. I even got a decoy owl (which one day I looked out to see a squirrel sitting beside it eating a snack!!) But as soon as they out grew the panels, this happened.
