Substrate Depth for Adult Female?

Hello! Looking for tank upgrade advice.

Our Pacman, Mohg, is entering adulthood and getting a tank upgrade. She loves to bury of course, and her current tank has about 6” of substrate but she usually only buries to about 4. We’ve been looking at front opening tanks (her current home just has the regular mesh lid) because I’ve heard this is less stressful if she ever needs to be taken out (rare). However, these typically only have about 3-4” depth below the doors, is this enough? Want her comfy!! Any other tips relating to tank upgrade (were think 40 gal long) are appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. Tank in image is her 5gal travel tank as we move cross country. Just looked cute

uvb length question

i have a 10 gallon baby tank for my froglet, and i'm using my uvb lamp from my old 20 gallon that i originally started him in. it's VERY long on the 10, and spans the entire thing as shown above in the photo. is it okay to have it on when it spans the entire terrarium? i have a cork round hide on the left and a spider plant on the right for him to hide in/under. he also likes to hide in a little open wedge in the back that's in the cork bark. (i know it's a little awkward looking, i had to hang it up so it was at the proper height for the light. im not sure exactly what the wattage is but iirc it's reptisun 5.0 uvb bulb.

New to Pacman frog care

Im one of the people that fell for the trap that is the petco pacman frog desk pet display. I've owned reptiles before including crested geckos, ball pythons etc but am new to owning a frog and just wanna give this little guy the best life I can. Ive done a lot of research this past week ive owned him, but would still appreciate some pointers. Hes currently in a 20 gal tank and I decided to take the bioactive enclosure route and put a golden Pathos, nerve plant, and fern in with him as well as bought a 7% UVB light, and heating pad but im having issues keeping the temp and humidity up. He hasn't eaten yet, im assuming because its too cold but what's the best way to get him to eat? Also impacting is a concern for me aswel so should I monitor him when he eats? The enclosure is still a work in progress and im working on getting some springtails and isopods, but im not sure the best type to get that won't harm my frog. Any and all advise is appreciated!

Beelzebufo again :D

I've forgotten I'm on this reddit, so I wanted to show you how my frog is doing :D

Next month she'll have a year and I want to rebuild her whole tank, making her a paludarium and her first mice, a long with probably a brand new and larger tank

pacman came in injured

Edit: seller is willing to do a half refund- although he is very nice and he means well, until he changes the way he ships pacmans, I still wouldn’t recommend. Any other reptile/amphibian im sure they’re shipped normally.

so I finally got my mutant frog through a seller on MorphMarket and he arrived with a injured front arm. Seller shipped him in a pretty open container with just damp paper towels- nothing to cushion his fall or to keep him stable during transit- apparently this is how he receives them too.

This is how he ships all his pacmans so just be wary when buying a frog from him -.- I was so excited and now I’m just dumbfounded. And all he basically said is to monitor him and enjoy, he’ll perk up soon- bruh are we joking 🫩

I work as an exotic vet assistant so he’ll be seen for it when he settles in first- I’d rather have him eating before I stress him more and he’s a bit too small to perform extensive procedures but it is possible to. It’s not a open wound and he’s still able to move the arm but he sits like the leaning tower of pisa- most likely shoulder or forearm injury

So, any name suggestions for a tilting chicken?

Bogtrotter the Pacman

Recent first time owner of Pac-Man frog bogtrotter. Seems to have settled in well, temps and humidity spot on, buried itself right to the bottom. Should I be digging him up every 1-2 days to feed and soak?

This is Tiki. He needs to be unburied to eat.

I’ve had Tiki for about 6 months. He (or she?) always has needed reminding to eat. Since he’s a little older now, I dig him out every week to eat a worm. Sometimes when he’s filled with pee I’ll also put him in a warm bath. Is this possibly normal or is something wrong? Or is he just a diva??
Set up is bio 20 gal, automatic mister, CHE + heat pad, 80F and 70% humidity. First time pacman owner.

How is Bogart looking?

Got this handsome fellow on Saturday (5/16). I’m assuming he is maybe 3 months old based on size (1.3in). I lost my last frog so I’m even more anxious about this one. How is he looking? Will attempt to feed him tonight.

any advice to get my pac more explorative?

hello! i have a pretty young frog, around 7 months i wanna say? i've posted him here before. anyway, i know that it's very normal for them to be completely buried a lot, but every day all day? i'm not quite sure. i keep the terrarium at 80 degrees on the warm side and about 76 on the cool side, with a water dish on the cooler side. the humidity goes from 50-80 during the day as i mist a few times a day. i keep my substrate moist, not enough to drip but enough to hold its shape. my setup and him are both shown above! my frog is a FIERCE eater and never refuses anything. (unless it's a dubia roach... we're still working on that 😅) however, when i do feed him, (around every other day to every two days) i have to dig him up and he never freaks out much, just a little bit of hopping of course but then he chills out right away. i basically *NEVER* see him above ground on his own, and really the only times i do is for a couple hours after feeding and then he digs right back down into the same spot each time, in the back in front of the big piece of cork bark and next to the spider plant. the longest i've went without digging him up was four weeks, with the hopes that he was just acclimating for longer than usual and he'd come up on his own. he did not, but thankfully he was perfectly fine after that and no weight was lost, and he continued eating like usual, if not more.

anyhow, my point is—are there any ways to get him up more often? not necessarily explorative because i know how they are, very sedentary, but i never even see his eyes above ground. 😓 advice would be much appreciated! thank you :- )

baby pacman sucks at eating

I never seen an animal miss their shot at food so many times 😭 I’m gonna have to sit here for 30 minutes because of the failed attempts

Also found out: we don’t like dubias apparently

Worm farm for food?

Has anybody made a worm farm for their frog or other pets?

I'm in northern ontario and the worms here SUCK, they die, mold etc so quickly and are always so small. Stores dont take care of the worms once they get them. I feel like im waisting more worms than im buying due to my frogs feeding schedule/appetite.

My frog is extremely picky so nightcrawlers are a staple for him. He hates crickets, roaches and sometimes likes hornworms. We have yet to try a pinky mouse or silversides.
