ISO: pavers

ISO: pavers

Specifically about 12-20 grey square 12x12x1.5 size (thinner than the more common 2") to finish off a project.

Just wanted to see if anyone has surplus taking up space in their yard before I feed home depot any money.

Can other homeowners help me get started offering a room for rent?

Hi, I own a 4br house with only two people living in it, and would love to rent out the extra space.

Any folks experienced with renting a room in the house they own and live in with Portland city limits have suggestion or resources to help me put together a solid lease agreement, and fully understand my responsibilities? (my understanding is Portland laws are a bit different from landlord shared housing vs renting an entire/separate unit).

Bathroom remodel contractor recs?

Actually looking to just have the tub/shower replaced and address any potential water damage to walls behind and subfloor.

I already have one quote scheduled, looking for a couple more. Tend to lean away from companies so large it becomes a toss up what crew you get, while also avoiding newer companies lacking a soild track record.

Anyone know of some solid options in the middle I should give a call?

Are your zinnias blooming and Dahlias up yet?

I transplanted some zinnia starts, and put a few dahlia tubers in the ground in late may... And nothing has come up yet, zinnias still not blooming, and seem top heavy. I thought the seed pack said 35 days to bloom, so it seems off..

I just wanted to share hope

I'm almost 40. I was 12 the first time I self harmed. It's never been completely absent from my life since. Often quiet for long stretches, but never fully gone.

I've been married for a decade (he knows, accepts, loves including not despite of my "quirks"). We bought a house together, in our dream city. There has been stress and struggle, but also staggering successes.

Last night we had a perfect evening. The kind money can't buy. Hot summer evening swim in a beautiful river. Drinks at a garden bar. A drive home at sunset with the windows down and perfect air temp. Rejuvenation, inspiration and hope in both our hearts.

As I stuck my arm out the window to soak in the moment of the air I noticed my scars gleam in the warm light, and realized this is the kind of moment I had been waiting for, fighting for, the whole time. A moment I could never had dreamed of. A moment I didn't know would ever come. A moment I want a million more of. A moment that made me realize it was all worth it.

And for maybe the first time I didn't look at the scars with shame and embarrassment, but with gratitude. Because the gave me the chance to live that moment.

Keep you chin up. Your moment will come too, and be so much better that you ever thought possible.

Planter boxes for veggie garden.

I don't trust my yard soil, looking to start a veggie garden in raised beds.

Originally was thinking of building 18 inch deep 4ft beds out of cedar, but just found a deal on similarly sized aluminum stock tanks, 4x2x1ft.

I know 18" depth is recommended, but is 12" depth for a veggie garden problematic? Any other downsides to aluminum stock taanks for veggie gardening?

ISO 12x12x1.5 pavers

Trying to finish off a patio project without giving home depot money.

I need a total of 22 more pavers (preferably gray/pewter) to finish the task.

Size is 12x12, using the 1.5ish thick ones, not the thicker 2" ones. If you've got a pile of leftover collecting spiderweb in your yard, or maybe you're pulling up some you don't want anymore, can I come raid your stack?

Mattole Rd. Question

I know the Google estimate is going to be very wrong here.

How long would it take to drive mattole rd, from Fernbridge to Humboldt state park where it connects to Hwy 101.

Hubbs did years ago, would love to do together on our upcoming trip, but trying to understand how much time is realistically needed.

How much are we tipping on beers these days?

For mixed drinks/food I tip 20%, assuming service was good. Sometimes a bit less, like 10%-15% for order at the counter type service, if all they do is drop a plate.

For beers, I usually tip "the standard" $1/pour, which seems reasonable for opening a can, or pouring liquid into a cup.

Have we been upping this standard as cost rise? I feel like a place gave me attitude for tipping $2 on two beers recently. Genuinely want to know if I need to update my standards, or just avoid that spot like the plague.

Funky Frames - pick up in SE

Cute vintagy wood frames. Distressed and far from perfect condition, but still fun. Picked them up on buy nothing a while ago, but I am still sooo far out from getting to the wall decorating phase of my home renovation project. Better to let someone else enjoy this now instead of collecting dust in a dark closet somewhere.

Any day pass options for rock climbing newbie?

Aparently I'm bored and want to try new things. I've never been rock climbing, am terrified of height, and absolutely obsessed with trying out a rock climbing gym. Yeah... I know...

My understanding is usually you pay for a membership, and get a basic safety lesson when you sign up. But since I really just want to try this out and see if I love it or hate it, looking for something like a day pass, or a couple of hours. Would need safty lesson/basic instruction because I'm clueless.

Are there options like this for me?

Let me specifically say I am NOT looking for jujutsu/ground fighting focused training.

Other than that, let me hear what you've liked! I've been training for a couple of years and am surprised how much I enjoy it, but my current spot is far from where I live now, and I feel like I'm leveling off in terms of new techniques being taught. Wanting to explore a bit and try something new. Focus being on realistic self defense.

Obviously, lots of attention around midterm elections. Oregon has closed primaries, and must be party registered by April 28th to participate.

How are feeling about this? Better to register as republican and help weed out far right magas? Or register Democrat and select the candidate we want?
