Everglades or Look into Family History

I have some time off coming up in October. About a week or so.

I live in Florida and have been all along it except southern Florida. I'm thinking of doing around the Everglades and see what's around because I'm thinking of camping at some point (not this trip) but at least this would give me ideas of what would be needed and I can just tourist around.

My other thought is that I have a slight mystery in my family and I could find the locations of the information and attempt to put those mysteries to rest. These locations, Tampa and area around that - I'd have to find the other one I can't recall right now - would be closer which mean I could do it whenever - but as I haven't yet this could put me more on that path. I am very interested in my geneology as I don't have a lot of older family members anymore that could tell me stories and what has happened when they were kids. All I can find out is what I learn (hence the slight mystery).

I've done that area already, though. So it's not a new area to explore as the Everglades and surrounding areas would be.

Either are easily within reach for me. I can do a hotel (or whatever) at any of them.
I just can't decide which I want more.

The Merchant's (Keep Family) house

Decided to make a merchant house (side houshold). other photo was my inspiration. Bottom floor (stone) is the store room and the workshop (make candles and sell flowers - I dunno I liked it). Top floor is a one room residence.
I want to put in one or two more windows in but I can't decide where. Downstairs still needs windows too. lol

Nun Career by avathepit not showing in jobs

[I'm gonna mark it resolved even though it kinda isn't but apparently I kept missing the scarlet list says 'unknown' not that it works. Still weird (as I commented on the comment that pointed it out to me) that it worked on June 12th but suddenly not now. Oh well. I'm gonna report it to scartlet anyways. Thanks for the responses]

Recently made an abbey with nuns and went to give the nuns their carrers with the nun career I knew I had installed and seen recently in my main family while looking for something else.

And there's no nun/religion careers whatsoever showing. My other medieval careers are showing.
I'm not getting any exceptions from either MCCC or from BetterExceptions and Scarlet's Realm's list shows it as still working as of 4/29/2026

I've deleted it from my file. Redownloaded it. Made sure I have Lot-51 (I do but deleted and redownloaded just in case). Looked for other things (already have xlm injector but I didn't see that it needed it anyways but regardless I still have it).

It's not the end of the world but I'm curious if I've missed something.

Also. I started playing again after the May update...so, I suppose it could still be broken. But it's weird that I DID have it recently. Anyways. I've tried all the troubleshooting and I've even looked to see if it was where I downloaded it from (scarlet's page takes you to the patreon link).

Dugout Cabin

I think dugout/pithouse cabins are some of the most ingenous things that our ancestors have made (I know it was from necessity but I still love them).

So. I decided to try my hand in making one. I didn't have move objects turned on and I think it might have been better with it on. But, honestly. I love this little shack.

(this will be the home of a neighbor. I'm think he'll be a miner)

The Moss Family (died out)

Heardwulf was born to the village. He had known his love Edonea from the moment he saw her at the local barn raising. They grew up together with the entire village muttering, commenting, murmuring and gossiping about how wonderful it will be once they marry.
At the ages of 20 and 19, Heardwulf and Edonea are wed. Ready and eager to start their family. Heardwulf had taken five years but built a reasonable cottage for him and his new wife.
Happier than ever they both took on their maritail duties with the care and hope they were meant to.
Until tragedy happened and young Edonea, with a very early pregnancy in her belly, slowly wasted away until she was gone.
Heartbroken but knowing he needed the help for his new life. Heardwulf put out word he needed help in his household.

The village rallied for the heartbroken widower and when a young girl came into the local inn after coming from across the sea with her merchant uncle. She was told of the chance of income and about Heardwulf, his strength, dedication, the respect of the village and of course the tradgety of his first marriage.
It was so that Agnes Oakes answer the call for in in-house helper. She became Heardwulf's cook, cleaner, and the minder of his house. But even more, she became his confidant and soon they found themselves in love.

A little past a year Heardwulf, now 21, got on one knee in the garden and proposed to 21 year old Agnes and they were soon married.
And God blessed their union quickly and well.

The happy couple would soon welcome children. First, in 1302 young Alyse, the first daughter and the apple of her father's eye. Heardwulf couldn't have been happier for a child, any child truly. And he spoiled the little girl like a princess.
Not long after Alyse's little sister Rose would follow in 1304
Heardwulf, still happy started to hope for a son and heir and soon, three years later in 1307 Heardwulf's prayers were answered as Agnes gave birth to Wulfbrand, their little wolf cub and heir to Heardwulf's dynasty such as it was.
And a second son was soon to follow as little Harding would be born a year later.

Beyond happy with the growth of hearth, Heardwulf was able, with a good sell of his crops and a few extras such as flowers and frogs to the tavern and inn. He grew his home as well. Readying the structure to be a family home for four children and him and his wife for a long time to come.

However, life is governed by its own rules and after a day of playing and catching frogs by the local stream little Rose came down with Typhoid fever (probably from the very stream). That spring was not a happy one even when Agnes announced to Heardwulf her fifth pregnancy as Rose weakened and passed.

A month later the little wolf cub Wulfbrand woke with a badly sore throat refusing food and drink. It hurt too badly. Not long he developed the tell tale signs of rash and red bumpy strawberry like tongue of Scarlett fever. He weakened from refusing to eat and only a few months after his sister, Wulfbrand was also taken. Alyse also caught the horrible sickness and was thought gone when suddenly she rallied and just before the birth of Aria her new baby sister she became well once more.

After the death of two children Heardwulf and Agnes put all their energy into their remaining young and started to neglect the farm, the crops and Agnes's flowers slowly withered and died away as if mourning for the youngsters that would never grow.

Agnes tried. She tried for her new baby and the older children but eventually she succumed to the same thing that took Heardwulf's first wife and passed from wasting sickness.

Heartbroken; now a widower twice over and with three very young children Heardwulf called for a wetnurse but when the nurse arrived all she found was three crying children, the oldest barely 5.

And Heardwulf gone to be with his lost loves.

Pulling pallet from truck

So. This might be a silly question or something asked and answered already (if so just point me that way). But of my nearly 20 years I've never pulled pallets straight off the truck before and I did just that the other day (I havehelped after someone else pulled yes, but the other day was a first for me. I just never needed to before).

And it freaked me out. lol

I think I knew the truck was at an angle but it didn't register right until I was pulling and it got more speed than I had initially thought it'd get. So, my question for the masses is: how do you not freak out about the angle and the resulting speed?

((The pallets I was pulling weren't super heavy. They were LMDs for OGP so not chemicals or water or anything drastic)).

And if it helps we have it where we have to turn immediately out of the truck (iirc that's pretty standard) and turn to the left where our backroom doors exit to our chemical department (after chemicals I turn right and go straight ahead to OGP).

I'm fine with everything else (except the woman that stopped me as I was going through chemicals) it's just the ramp/speed that worried me. Scared to death I'll run into myself.
Is this just a 'you just have to keep doing it to learn' situation? I'm fine with that if it is. I actually felt pretty good afterwards. Accomplished or something.

So, I'd like tricks, information, whatever for when because I'm sure there will be one. My TL(s) ask me to pull LMDs again.
