Question about tickets

I went out with friends today and Im quite scared, as I've forgot to tap my ticket on the way off the train. Id booked the ticket for the stop after mine (end of the line) by accident too, and now I dont know what's going to happen (this is my first time using the train by myself, I usually take the bus and had no clue what I was doing)

I've googled the SWR policy on stuff like this but I couldn't find anything specific on their website and the ai overview told me there'd be a big fine which I cant pay.

Does anyone know what happens in situations like this? Im really worried.

Should I lie to my players about what the theme is?

So, I haven't DMed in a while, but its coming up to be my turn after our current DM finishes their campaign.

Im thinking of running a more cosmic/body horror campaign but I kind of want to make it so that they don't know that so at the start its some chill, RP focused thing before a light infantry the sky crashes outside the city and... hey whys the coffee got blue shit in it?

I know all the others really well, theyre good friends who I've known for 4 years now, and I know that they know they'll smell something fishy about the fact Im talking about a laid-back campaign, but I think that pulling the rug on them will add to the whole thing. Trouble is that Im not too certain of it.

Should base settlement limit scale on map size?

I've noticed in my games on Huge and large maps that there's always far too much empty space for my liking. So, what if, starting from small size, the base settlement limit scaled by +1 as the size increases?

Would that be balanced for a certain Civ? Absolutely not.

Would it mean the size of your civ can fit the size of the map better? Probably.

Just a thought. Not sure what you'd all think.

You'd think they'd learn at some point no?

Context: several religious leaders of countries throughout history have attempted to find man's "original language" (in Christianity that being the language spoken pre-babel assumedly) which is a neat idea. Until they just nick some kids and lock them in a room and feed them through a hatch to stop them from learning any language.

As you may guess, this did not achieve what they wanted, with the subjects simply making little to no verbal communication with one another according to one source from India from the reign of Ashoka. (Though you could argue that the noises they did make were in fact man's original language.)

Notable examples of rulers who have done so include:

Psamtik I of Egypt

Frederick II of Sicily

James IV of Scotland

Ashoka of the Mauryan empire
