Determining whether motherboard or ram stick is faulty

Recently, I built my first PC, and I have been having issues with my ram. The orange DRAM light frequently occurs, which requires me to push down on my ram sticks, which resolves the issue temporarily. However, the connection seems to be extremely finicky, and even with leaving my PC alone all night, the issue resumed in the morning.

What process can I follow to determine if the RAM or Motherboard are at fault? I've tried turning the PC with only one RAM stick, which seems to indicate one of my sticks is faulty, or much more difficult to have a consistent boot cycle compared to the other stick, but I need more time to test it. And in any case, pressing down on the possibly faulty stick can help for some reason. Any ideas for what that could be? Are the sockets on the motherboard simply loose? Would a memtest help?

If this information would help, I got 32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM and an ASUS TUF B850-E WIFI Motherboard.

EDIT: I kept going back and forth on the RAM sticks, and one of them is definitely faulty. I will go back for an exchange tomorrow.

Finicky RAM connection for B850-E Motherboard

I built my first pc today, and I've noticed that the ram connection is off. Whenever I did any additional configuration inside my PC, the orange DRAM light came on. To get things to work again, I often have to give my ram sticks a little push. Is the ram connection meant to be so sensitive, or is my motherboard defective in some way?

I would like to note that I have a dual tower air cooler which forced me to place one fan above a ram stick. Could that also be causing this?

How to get front case fans to work for Antec Flux SE

I've plugged the sata cable into my psu, but it seems that only the rear and bottom fans activate. Is there some other cable that I'm missing, or is my case defective?

Better SSD or Better CPU? Or Neither?

Hi, I'm posting again after last time. I am decided to go with a 32 GB ram Microcenter bundle just in case prices rise again, but I am now at another crossroads.

With the extra $100, I could go from 7800x3D to a 9800x3D. Alternatively, I could go from the WD SN7100 to the Samsung 990 Pro. Or, I could simply pocket the $100. Thanks again.

Aimless CompSci Graduate Curious About Pursuing Neuroscience

Hey everyone,

After suffering a few significant events, I'm seriously considering going to graduate school to pursue Neuroscience, if feasible. I plan to contact my old college about it next week, but I thought I could possibly get some advice here.

I graduated last year with a good GPA in Computer Science, but I lack any research experience or internships. What post-bachelor opportunities are realistically open for someone with my background, if anything? Thanks.

Deliberating between Microcenter Bundles

I'm debating whether to go with one of these two bundles:
https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007391/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d,-gigabyte-x870-gaming-wifi6-am5,-corsair-vengeance-rgb-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle
https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007405/amd-ryzen-5-7600x3d,-gigabyte-x870-gaming-wifi6-am5,-gskill-flare-x5-16gb-ddr5-6000,-computer-build-bundle

For context, I plan on running a light linux distro, so ram should be much less of an issue. Currently, I idle on about 2GB of ram with no applications open. But I'm wondering if it would be nonetheless be a better idea to throw the extra $250 for future-proofing with the additional ram and getting a better CPU. If I went with the 7600x3d bundle, I would use the extra cash to upgrade my current monitor

How do you all handle Dysacusis + Hyperacusis?

I had a stupid accident with a smoke detector about 3 weeks ago that has left me with increased sensitivity in one ear and distortions in the lower and perhaps ultra-low frequencies. I haven't been able to get more than a couple of hours of sleep each night and I have been rapidly dropping weight. To top it all off, I live near noisy neighbors and an airport.

I don't exactly want to die, but life right now is pure agony. The primary reason I am alive is because my ENT said it may clear up in a few months. How did you get through the beginning of this affliction, and how do you continue to cope today? What motivates you to keep on living despite your pain?

There isn't really much to say. I recently suffered from acoustic trauma to my right ear, and saw an ENT who prescribed me a steroid to alleviate my symptoms. Now, after two days of dosage, my unaffected left ear has been made significantly worse than the right, and is somewhat muffled. That's not to mention the nausea and pains and all the other crap induced by the steroid. Feel hopeless as hell.
